Q&As
Sean Smith
How would you describe yourself?
Just an average lad really. I suppose I am quite out there and also a bit random and crazy! But other than that just your average fella.

Why did you enter The X Factor?
Because I want to be rich, famous and a huge star! It’s all I have ever dreamed of, I just want to be successful and I thought X-factor could help achieve my dream.

What’s the best thing ever happened to you?
Well, it’s got to be The X Factor! Undoubtedly. There is nothing else that even comes close, that moment when Simon said that we were through to the live shows – that was just amazing.

What’s your claim to fame?
Brian May said I had a great voice once. I did a panto with his wife [Anita Dobson], he came up to me, shook my hand and said that I had a great voice and would go far. That was great.

Whose poster did you have on your wall?
It was always the Spice Girls, I loved all that cheesy stuff! I used to have Billie Piper on my wall as well.

Which celebrity do you have a crush on?
It’s got to be Rachel Bilson from the OC. She seems really sweet and is dainty and cute – I like that!

What was the first single you bought?
It was Happy Together by Jason Donavan, years ago now. I played it all the time and used to know all of the words. I went to see him in Joseph when I was younger and then he just sort of became my idol for ages – I bought all of his songs!

What superstitions do you have?
I say ‘touch wood’ a lot and I’m funny about crossing people on the stairs as well. I suppose I am quite superstitious really, I used to have a pair of lucky socks but they are a bit worn out now, so I won’t be wearing them on X Factor!

Sarah Smith
Who would you describe yourself?
Happy, girly, random, caring, friendly, talkative. Over-enthusiastic, blonde, dedicated and loving

Why did you enter The X Factor?
To be honest I went with Sean to support him as he was going as a soloist and then when I got there I just really wanted to do it myself as well, it felt like the right thing to do and I love singing so much – I’m so glad I went along now.

What’s the best thing ever happened to you?
Obviously The X Factor! Prior to that I did get to present an award to Gareth Gates a few years ago, I had entered a competition on the Disney Channel and got to present this award to him at the Disney Awards – it was amazing!

What’s your claim to fame?
I suppose it’s the Disney Channel awards that I just mentioned, I got to stand on a stage with Gareth Gates who was my idol at the time.

Who did you use to have hanging on your wall?
When I was really young it was Aaron Carter but then as I got older it was Gareth Gates, so presenting the Disney Award to him was my dream come true! I didn’t manage to get a picture with him though, I was so upset by that.

Which celebrity do you have a crush on?
I really like Zac Efron from High School Musical, though I think it’s more the character he plays in it [High School Musical], I like Jude Law as well.

What’s the first single that you bought?
Aaron Carter - Crazy Little Party Girl

What superstitions do you have?
I always say ‘touch wood’, though I always touch my head when I say that for some reason. I say ‘break a leg’ a lot to my brother and I won’t walk under ladders either.
