Q&As
Richard Wilkinson

How would you describe yourself?
Dedicated, Loyal, soft, easily led a good listener and really talented.

Why did you enter The X Factor?
Ever since I was really young I’ve wanted to be a singer. It was my dream job when I was at school, when all the other kids were saying they wanted to be a fireman or a policeman I was saying I wanted to be a singer.

What’s the best thing ever happened to you?
This! This is probably the biggest thing I’ve ever done but when I was at school I played the part of ‘Sky Masterton’ in the school play – that was great, filling Marlon Brando’s shoes!

What’s your claim to fame?
I once bumped into Jane McDonald! Does that count?!

Whose posters did you have on your walls?
Julia Roberts was the first poster I ever bought. It was in black and white and she looked amazing.

Which celebrity do you have a crush on?
It’s got to be Liv Tyler because she’s so perfect.

What’s the first single that you bought?
It was Total Eclipse of the Heart – It was really good when it came out! Honestly.

What superstitions do you have?
I’m quite a superstitious person actually and I also read tarot cards as a hobby. The ones I always stick to are ‘never walk under ladders’ and ‘never walk over three grates’.

Aaron Delhunty
How would you describe yourself?
Motivated, determined, outspoken, cynical and funny!

Why did you enter The X Factor?
In the beginning it was to see if they [the judges] would think I was good enough to go into the competition and how far I could make it. Obviously it didn’t work out as I planned – It worked out better! I much prefer singing as a group than solo, it’s great.

What’s the best thing ever happened to you?
Probably this and also seeing the original line up of Black Sabbath in 2001 – that’s got to be up there!

What’s your claim to fame?
When I was younger I was around Adamski and Seal a lot as they were both friends of my dads. Seal was definitely a massive inspiration to me as a child.

Who did you use to have hanging on your wall?
Slipknot, Eminem, Wu Tang and also Kelly Osbourne – as random as that sounds!

Which celebrity do you have a crush on?
Kelly Osbourne! I also really fancy Sharon as well, I don’t think she knows that though. Kelly Brook as well, she’s up there with the best of them.

What’s the first single that you bought?
I think it was Left Behind by slipknot but my first album was Seal’s first album!

What superstitions do you have?
I’m not superstitious at all so I don’t have any

Adam Chandler
How would you describe yourself?
Energetic, bubbly and friendly!

Why did you enter The X Factor?
To Win! No seriously, my mum sorted it all out for me – I was getting old and needed to pull my finger out!

What’s the best thing ever happened to you?
Forming Futureproof on The X Factor. I would never have thought about being in a group before, it’s changed my life.

What’s your claim to fame?
I danced behind Blue and Tom Jones at The Brit Awards once! I’ve also sang with Tony Hadley at a charity event before as well.

Whose posters did you have on your wall?
Ryan Giggs when I was younger – that’s bad to even admit that!

Which celebrity do you have a crush on?
All of W4 [who made it to X Factor's bootcamp] There is one particular one but I can’t say because it isn’t fair!

What’s the first single you bought?
I think it was Lionel Richie or Stevie Wonder. I grew up listening to soul and swing so I love all that sort of music.

What superstitions do you have?
Only the obvious ones like not walking under ladders and stuff, I don’t have any lucky charms or anything like that.

Sean Ramsey
How would you describe yourself?
I would say that I am determined; when I put my mind to it I really want to achieve it. I’m also very focused. My friends would probably say that I’m random and a bit crazy!

Why did you enter The X Factor?
Music is my life and everything that has ever driven me has been my music. I think I also have something to offer the industry as well, but that’s obviously for other people to decide.

What’s the best thing ever happened to you?
Probably being adopted, if it wasn’t for that then I wouldn’t be here now.

What’s your claim to fame?
Ian Beale from Eastenders lives near me! Does that count?

Who did you use to have hanging on your wall?
I can’t remember but it was probably David Beckham because I was really into football when I was younger, I was a bit of a glory supporter though as I lived in Coventry!

Which celebrity do you have a crush on?
The Cheeky Girls! No, not really, but I don’t really have a crush on any celebrity. If it was just about looks then I would say Kate Beckinsale, as I think she’s a natural beauty.

What’s the first single that you bought?
Love Is All Around by Wet Wet Wet. I loved it, I loved ballads. I actually kept losing and breaking it, so I think I ended up buying three copies!

What superstitions do you have?
Non really, I’m kind of obsessive in that I feel the need to practice a lot and keep myself on my toes – but that’s not really a superstition.

Matthew Protheroe
How would you describe yourself?
I’m quite laid back and easy to get a long with, I’m passionate about what I do and I know what I want to do in life. I’m a good laugh as well!

Why did you enter The X Factor?
Because I have wanted to be a singer for years and it seemed a great opportunity. I took a year out of college to try and do something big and take a gamble – I just thought I would go for it!

What’s the best thing ever happened to you?
This! But before The X Factor I was in the musical Ragtime at the Piccadilly Theatre – it was a great time.

What’s your claim to fame?
She won’t remember this but I met Dannii Minogue once. I was in the musical The Full Monty at the Prince of Wales theatre when she came to see it, I had a photo with her after but she wouldn’t remember!

Whose posters did you have hanging on your wall?
I had the Spice Girls! Especially Baby Spice [Emma Bunton] and Ginger Spice [Geri Halliwell]

Which celebrity do you have a crush on?
Eva Mendes and W4!! I love Amy Winehouse too, I think she’s great.

What’s the first single that you bought?
I didn’t buy singles much, I think it would’ve been the Spice Girls though. I just used to listen to the stuff that was around the house, lots of Jazz, Soul and Motown – I loved Bob Marley as well.

What superstitions do you have?
I used to be superstitious but I’m not any more – I try not to think about things like that.
