Here are this week's auditionees who have been under the spotlight...


Cathal, 21
Factory worker, Cathal believes that he has the talent and could follow the footsteps of last year's winner, Shayne Ward. He has become a fan of his and has been inspired to be the next Shayne Ward.  In the audition room, Cathal had a go at Shayne's big hit, 'That's My Goal'.  The judges were having a laugh and knew that this performance was far from okay.

Mission
This girl duo is here on a mission to spread the word of Jesus to the country.  The judges didn't see that at all.

Papulana, 24
Papulana says she is beautiful with a beautiful body and can get to the top.  But the judges were having a laugh when they heard her sing Roxette's 'Listen To Your Heart'.  Simon said that she didn't sound human and Sharon said that she sounded like a little sheep. And with that, she was shown the exit door.

Morgan, 23
Shop assistant, Morgan has an ambition to not only be a successful singer, but also a successful songwriter as well.  She wants to be able to entertain people.  The judges were happy with Morgan's version of Whitney Houston's 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody' and were happy to put her through.

Jelena, 18
Latvian Jelena who now lives in Dublin was the winner of the Latvian National Singing Contest at the age of 16.  She believes with her singing talent can change people's lives.  At the other end, was just Louis and Simon (Sharon had to leave because of personal reasons).  When the pair heard of Jelena's voice, the couldn't help but laugh.  They thought she was over the top.

Rudi, 19
Rudi wants to be able to perform and entertain people.  On his Dublin audition, it was only Louis and Simon judging.  As he performed Phil Collins 'In The Air Tonight'.  It impressed Louis but not Simon who was disappointed.  But he was sent home...but Rudi felt it was unfair because Sharon wasn't there and that may have made a difference...and so he attends the Glasgow audition and this time Sharon was there.  As he performed, Simon remained with his decision with no all the way, Louis still felt there was a chance and Sharon also saw potential and agreed with Louis.  Rudi finally got through!

Wayne, 16
Trainee hairdresser, Wayne has brought his family for support as he faced the only two judges in Dublin.  He wants to give his family a better life.  He felt a bit nervous while performing.  It took a bit of time for Louis and Simon to agree, but at the end, they both said yes and put him through.

Ajay, 21
Student Ajay really wants to win The X Factor and become a superstar.  In the audition room though (and Sharon is back), the judges were not happy but found it amusing because it was quite squeaky.  But there was no way that he was going through.

Dramatics
The duo feel they have what it takes to be in the competition.  They feel they can both harmonise and is a singing teacher!  The judges felt they were really odd and did not approve when they heard their performance.

Chloe, 16
Chloe would do anything to be famous and she loves the lifestyle too!  And for this occasion, she wore a pink dress with matching cowboy hat just for the attention of the judges.  Chloe performed her version of 'Killing Me Softly', but the judges didn't even think she was good enough for the competition. They felt it was over the top and just a fame factor.  And with that, Chloe threw her cowboy hat in protest.

Ian, 38
Ian would give up everything to go into a singing career.  In his audition, he performed 'Let's Get It On' by Marvin Gaye.  This impressed the judges and they approved except for Simon.

Caron, 31
Civil servant, Caron believes she has a good singing voice and believes she can win.  However, when she performed it appeared to the judges that she was struggling to sing Kelly Clarkson's 'Because Of You'.   As a result of this, they felt she couldn't go through.

MacDonald Brothers: Brian and Craig
They duo want fame and want to bring that to the next level.  They even changed an original tune and made it their own!  The judges were happy with the performance and saw no problem putting them through.

Kerry, 31
At the age of 13, Kerry broke her back in an accident that put her on a wheelchair for life.  But today, this doesn't stop her from following her dream of being a singer.  She performed a good version of Maria McKee's 'Show Me Heaven' and the judges gave all their approvals and put her through.

Georgia: Jean-Ann, 21, Lorna, 19, Christine, 21 and Maria, 18
This exciting quartet caught the eye of the judges when they sang a variation of 'Arms Of Mary' using Simon (as in Simon Cowell!) in place of Maria. He was amazed!  Despite Sharon who wasn't impressed with the performance, Louis and Simon felt it was good enough.

Matthew
Matthew says he wouldn't mind being a diva but would love to be an A-list celebrity!  When he sings 'Hero' by Mariah Carey (his biggest fan), the judges don't think he is good enough.

Michael, 19
Michael is here at the auditions to see if he has the X Factor and wants to know the answers from the judges themselves!  Despite his performance of 'Mandy', Louis felt it was a decent performance, but Simon didn't see anything in it and he was out (by the way, Sharon wasn't there to judge)...but they did like the hair.

4th Ba5e: Blair, Christian, Daniel, Glenn and Mark
Yes, they are back once again!  The first time it was up to Boot Camp, the second time it was the Judges Homes stage...but this time, they are as ever determined to go all the way!  The guys performed although this time, Simon did not see anything special and said no.  Louis and Sharon still felt there was potential and both said yes.  Third time lucky...but how far?

Neopolitan: 'Vanilla' Grace, 22, 'Chocolate' Danielle, 23 and 'Strawberry' Cheryl, 20
What is this?  Yes it is a group with flavour and that's what they say they are all about!  They performanced 'Lady Marmalade' and the judges were happy with Chocolate and felt that Vanilla and Strawberry should be backing.  But despite the criticism, the judges over put them through!

Thandie, 19
Very giggly, Thandie got Sharon in fits of laughter with what Thandie was wearing!  Because of this, during the audition, they had to stop to allow Sharon to calm down.  Thandie brought her grandma along to keep calm while she performed, 'I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker'.  Overall, apart from the outfit, all the judges put her through!

Joyce, 62

Joyce can belly dance naturally...and the dress was suited for the occasion.  She performed 'The Closest Thing To Crazy'.  The judges were split, but they made their decision, for Simon it was a no and once again Louis and Sharon put her through.

Kiss

This girl trio only formed for two weeks and rehearsed for just a day to perform in front of the judges.  They sang 'Relight My Fire' but the judges spotted no lead and that's where their audition ended.

Nicola

The thing with Nicola is she is a huge Christina Aguilera fan and because of that, she has dressed a little bit like her and even impersonated her in front of the judges.  That was something that they did not like because it was like she wasn't herself.
