Here are this week's auditionees who have been under the spotlight...

Ebony Pearls: Cheryl, Siobhan and Debbie
This vocal harmony group have been singing together for years and have sung on special occasions.  They compare their vocals too, Cheryl would be Aretha Franklin, Siobhan (Cheryl's mother) would be Alicia Keys and Debbie (aunt) would be Nina Simone.  However the auditions proved to be not so impressive...the judges thought they sounded like cats!

Judges' verdict: OUT

Ebony Pearls

Rocking Rick, 48
Rocking Rick has been a dish washer (and fish & chips fryer) at Butlins for 30 years.  He feels that going in the music industry would be a refreshing change.  Rick sings 'Love Me Tender' but it sounds quite bad from the judges point of view.

Judges' verdict: OUT

Rocking Rick

Linda, 38
Receptionist, Linda is a bubbly and very entertaining contestant!  She is cheerful, happy and said hello to each of the judges.  The result...she sang Alicia Keys 'Fallin''.  All the judges loved her personality and as a result all the judges said yes!

Judges' verdict: IN

Linda

Dionne, 26
Student, Dionne has been delaying her chance to auditions to one of these shows for a while and felt the time was right.  She did sing a good version of '(You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman' but Sharon was unsure of her performance, but the rest felt she has a chance and put her through.

Judges' verdict: IN

Dionne

David, 36
Warehouse worker David feels he can get really passionate about what he sings in front of an audience.  In the audition room, he sang Paul Young's version of 'Wherever I Lay My Hat That's My Hat'.  It made Simon laugh and Sharon asked who David said could sing...it was a bloke.  But no!

Judges' verdict: OUT

David

Ben, 26
Ben who runs his own business putting up marquees, but he believes his singing live is a dream he wants to fulfill.  When he sang in the audition room, the judges were impressed and liked his soulful voice.  They had no problem putting him through.

Judges' verdict: IN

Ben

Janet, 56
Janet feels so lucky to be here because she previously had a spine injury.  But she has confidence and believes that going into a singing career is definitely somewhere to go into. Her version of Kylie Minogue's 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' was interesting as she was dynamically dancing to the tune...Simon said no but Paula, Simon and Louis were all impressed and put her through.

Judges' verdict: IN

Janet

Trevor, 31
Security guard Trevor did his version of Robbie Williams 'Let Me Entertain You' in front of the judges only to be told that his version was lifeless. He didn't go through!

Judges' verdict: OUT

Trevor

Robert, 27
Hospital worker Robert feels that singing frees his mind having lost his sister and recently his father.  But with these emotions, his feels that by going through he will be able to give his family a better life.  His version of 'Lately' by Stevie Wonder was a great version with the judges.

Judges' verdict: IN

Robert

Avenue: Ross, Scott, Max, Jamie and Johnny
Boy band Avenue have only been together for five months and went into the audition room to sing a different version of Will Young's 'Leave Right Now' in a vocal harmonic way.  While Simon could not see the relevance of the group, Louis and Sharon believed there was potential.

Judges' verdict: IN

Avenue

Anthony, 20
Petrol attendant Anthony has been spending time practising in front of the mirror.  He believes he is a good singer and has the looks and personality to make it through.  His version of Robbie Williams 'Angels' was totally out of tune.  The judges didn't think he had the X Factor at all.

Judges' verdict: OUT

Anthony

Hari, 20
Hari knows the X Factor all too well. Last year, she was the original lead to the group Eskimo Blonde (who are in the auditions again this year with a new member, see below for more info) who lost out in the Judges Homes stage when Simon said no.  She left the group soon after and this time has gone solo.  Her performance was very good and the judges had no problem putting her through.

Judges' verdict: IN

Hari

Eskimo Blonde: Danielle, Jemma and Gemma
They are back but with a new member, Danielle after Hari (see above) left the group soon after they lost out in the Judges Homes stage.  The group performed, 'Viva Forever' by the Spice Girls, but the judges were divided, Simon said no, Louis said yes and as for Sharon, it was difficult.  Louis and Simon left her behind with a big problem in her hands...Eskimo Blonde were begging Sharon to put them through, but Sharon refused.  The group were deeply upset and Sharon was angry with Louis and Simon as they showed no support.

Judges' verdict: OUT

Eskimo Blonde
