Shayne is 20 years of age and comes from Manchester. He believes that music is his career and impressed Louis when he performed The Hollies tune 'Air That I Breathe' in true style at his home. He has admitted that he has been performing karaoke in the bathroom and in the loo! He loves playing football and says that it keeps him fit.

Yes, I’m getting recognised!

Not one bit!
Where do you live and what is it like there?
Manchester. It’s great!
After you finish the contest, is a career in music for you?
100 per cent, yes.
Do you play an instrument?
Yes, guitar and I love it.
Describe a typical day in your life…
Cleaning! My sisters are very messy!
What is your favourite sport?
Football: it keeps me fit.
What was your favourite subject at school and why?
My favourite subject was Performing Arts because I could express myself.
Do you have a favourite memory?
My mum taking me and my siblings for a walk in the summer when we were young and buying us ice-cream!
What’s the strangest dream you’ve ever had?
A monster dragging me under the stairs. But he wouldn’t hurt, me, he had ice-cream. I think I like ice-cream!
What was the name of your first pet?
A dog called Shep, so-called because he was a German Shepherd.
Have you ever sung into a hairbrush?
No, only into a can of deodorant!
If you could duet with anyone, alive or dead, who would it be?
Justin Timberlake.
What music did you grow up with?
Irish music, country. I love music!
Has anyone asked for your autograph yet?
Quite a few ladies have. It’s great!
Which X Factor judge do you most admire?
Louis Walsh – he’s taught me to be positive, true and perform to the best of my ability.
Were you shocked to get this far?
I was very shocked indeed. I’m so happy!
