Daniel is second to leave the competition

Daniel Debourg is the second finalist having to say goodbye early to The X Factor after he crashed out of the contest with his rendition of The Foundations' 'Build Me Up Buttercup'. The only male contestant in the 25 and over category had failed to impress the judges in both his two attempts: during the main show and in the final showdown where in the latter he had to compete against Alisha Bennett who appeared in the final showdown for second time.
In the judges' decisions, both Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne saved their own acts, Daniel and Alisha respectively. Dannii Minogue decided to send Daniel home, and Simon Cowell made the final decision to evict Daniel avoiding a deadlock situation.
Simon Cowell commented that he acknowledged that Alisha had appeared twice in the bottom two but said "I still like you," whereas for Daniel he said "that was the least impressive performance," before deciding Daniel had to go on the basis of who he thought had the potential to improve.
Daniel had been the initial favourite before the live shows to win The X Factor this year but following a difficult first show for the finalist which saw his chances of winning falling to place him middle in the pack the road has certainly come to an end leaving Louis Walsh with only two of his acts.
The remaining ten acts battling for survival next week are:
Boys:
ANDY WILLIAMS
LEON JACKSON
RHYDIAN ROBERTS
Girls:
ALISHA BENNETT
EMILY NAKANDA
25 and over:
BEVERLEY TROTMAN
NIKI EVANS
