Summary:
What a difference a live show makes! Following the live performances of all twelve finalists it became much clearer which acts delivered strongly to impress both judges and the general public. Daniel Debourg, the initial favourite has slipped to the middle ground as his performance appeared to be outshone by those of Hope, Futureproof and Niki Evans who all take top positions in the betting odds. Hope and Futureproof lived up to expectations to give themselves best chances of carrying off the title at the end of the series. And a well received performance by Niki also secured her a strong set of odds with the judges giving her much praise. Another finalist to benefit from a strong start is Rhydian Roberts whose spectacular delivery helped bring him up from being one of the outsiders to being one of the top four favourites. Looking at the opposing end, bookies appear to have no faith in Same Difference despite their survival against the odds last week. It is still felt that the duet's arrangement may not favour them in the long run of the series. Joining Same Difference is Alisha Bennett, a direct result of her appearance in the final showdown and also victim to much criticism from the judges over the song choice she had. Leon Jackson has also suffered a tumble in the odds due to the judges' disapproval of his performance arrangement last week but he still holds a place in the middle ground. With a look at the judges, one can see that Simon Cowell takes a clear lead thanks to the strength of at least two of his groups while Sharon Osbourne has worsening odds following the public's not so good approval of two of her acts in last week's live show.
