Kimberley is the first act out of the competition
20 October 2007, 11:02PM

Kimberley Southwick is the first act to leave the X Factor competition after being voted out by the judges in the first Final Showdown against Alisha Bennett.

Kimberley performed 'It's Raining Men' which was a real stomper to start off the show.  Meanwhile Alisha Bennett performed 'Dreams'.  When the results came, Sharon Osbourne's two acts were in the bottom two which was a real shock for her as they both came from her category of the Girls. Sharon then said live that she had quit the show and just gave a hug to the her two acts.

Kimberley and Alisha performed once again in the Final Showdown.  When the judges had to decide, Sharon refused to vote as she didn't feel comfortable to send home one of her own acts.  Simon chose Kimberley to go home, while Dannii found it hard to make a decision but chose Alisha.  It was down to Louis to make the casting vote...but Louis said that Kimberley was entertaining and great talent but felt that Alisha had great vocal talent but was given the wrong song...but he sent home Kimberley.

The remaining acts left in the competition are as follows:

Boys
ANDY WILLIAMS
LEON JACKSON
RHYDIAN ROBERTS

Girls
ALISHA BENNETT
EMILY NAKANDA

25 and Over
BEVERLEY TROTMAN
DANIEL DEBOURG
NIKI EVANS

Groups
FUTUREPROOF
HOPE
SAME DIFFERENCE
