Beverley driven by death fear
18 October 2007, 6:29PM

X Factor finalist Beverley Trotman has revealed that she applied for the X Factor after two of her family members passed away.

Beverley's grandmother died on Mother's Day while her dad passed away in June this year.  This had led her to confront her own mortality and look at her life.

This is why Beverley applied for the X Factor and never thought she would make it to the final 12.  Speaking to Digital Spy, she said: "t was a very tough year for me, so I just thought I should go for it. I might be next. You just never know – my dad was only 54 when he died and my mum was only 21 when she died. It's a bit of a track record. I'm thinking to myself, 'Is it going to be me next at 35, 36?'".
