Andy's post-performance reaction

Andy Williams became the fourth contestant to leave The X Factor after losing out to contestant Beverley Trotman in the Final Showdown. The pair pulled the lowest votes on last night's live show based on 21st Century Hits. When the final results were announced, Louis Walsh said that Beverley didn't deserve to be in the bottom two, while Dannii Minogue advised Andy to do his very best. In the Final Showdown, Andy performed 'Chasing Cars' by Snow Patrol, while Beverley Trotman performed 'You're Beautiful' by James Blunt.
When the judges had to make their decision who to send home, Louis chose to save his own act and sent Andy home, while Dannii saved Andy and chose to send Beverley. Sharon Osbourne liked both acts but decided that Andy didn't perform his very best. This left Simon Cowell to make the final decision. He felt that Andy had once again been given the wrong song and that it did not suit him, while calling Beverley's tune a "peanut" performance and blamed it once again on song choice. Louis insisted that Beverley had to stay, but Simon did not want to know. Finally Simon based his decision purely on who he thinks the public would like to see next week...and decided that Andy was to go home.
Andy was emotional and clearly devastated with the result and hoped that he didn't let his family down.
Asked what he did when he left the stage, Andy said: "I went to see my family and friends. it was sad to walk past the stage, knowing it would be the last time I’d be near it. It was quite tough."
What he liked about The X Factor: "Just meeting everyone. I loved meeting a great bunch of people, from the stars like Celine Dion and Boyz II Men to the guys in the house, I’ve been very lucky, every one of them is amazing. It’s been a whirlwind, it’s all gone in a blink, from my first audition to leaving the house just now, it’s happened so quickly."
Asked what he thought about his song choice by Snow Patrol: "Initially I didn’t think it was. It may not have suited me, the judges said it only suited me a little bit. But I don’t think that was so noticeable. Basically I didn’t nail the first performance on the night well enough. When I came off stage I knew that it hadn’t gone as well as it could. It wasn’t the greatest song but I think a lot of it was down to my performance; you’ve gotta sing well enough on the day."
When asked what he felt when he heard he was in the bottom two: "It wasn’t nice, I had a feeling it was going to be tough when any of the Minogue boys get in the bottom three, because she still had three acts left. After I knew I was in the bottom two, I pretty much know I was going to be done before I even started singing, but I wanted to give a good final performance."
Finally when asked if his fate was already sealed when against Beverley, Andy said: "I just knew it was going to be ridiculously impossible to stay in cos Beverley’s awesome and I felt the judges though that it would be time for Team Minogue to lose a person. It was all down to Sharon and Simon obviously, I had a feeling it was going to go against me. You hope the judges’ decision is deadlocked so there’s the hope of having a last lifeline. But it didn’t happen."
