30/12/2001 - go ro - it's 40!

We would like to congratulate Ronan for entering the UK's biggest selling song of 2001 charts in the Pepsi Chart!  His single, 'Lovin' Each Day' reached number 40!  It was released in April reaching a brilliant number 2!  The single remained in the Pepsi Chart's Top 40 for a massive 13 weeks!  So once again, we want to congratulate Ronan in reaching the top 40... and of course to you the fans for getting the single!

We at Ronan Keating World really wish Ronan all the best in the new year - who knows - he may have the biggest selling single (and album!) in 2002!!

27/12/2001 - mistaken identity!

With regard to a previous news story we mentioned in November, we have some more info about the MTV advert that Ronan stars in!  The comedian Ricky Gervais (the star who has appeared in The 11 O'clock Show, pictured left) plays a lonely record owner who one day meets Ronan only to mistakenly think that he is actually one of the members of the Back Street Boys!!!  According to the magazine Creative Review, Ronan was very sceptical about the idea but at the end he seemed to enjoy it!

Sounds amusing doesn't it?  We'll watch out for the advert on a TV screen near you!  In fact, tune into MTV for a better chance to catch it!!

23/12/2001 - seasons greetings!

16/12/2001 - could be caught

According to some reliable sources recently, Ronan has recorded a song for a new Hollywood movie called 'Caught'.  It will feature in the the film 'Unfaithful' as the title soundtrack.  This film is directed by Adrian Lyne and stars the famous U.S. actor, Richard Gere (pictured left).  The song 'Caught' is to feature on the soundtrack of the film as well as Ronan's new album, 'Destination'.  Ronan has recorded songs for films before and is best remembered for the number 1 hit, 'When You Say Nothing At All' for the film, 'Notting Hill'.

There is some speculation that 'Caught' may be the name of Ronan's new single.  We can't officially confirm this and we are still awaiting the title of the new single.  We'll keep you informed about this, so watch this space soon at RKW!

12/12/2001 - ronan duets with lulu

Ronan is to duet with Lulu (pictured left) for her duets album.  The album was to be released before Christmas but is now to be released in March next year in line with her TV special to be shown around the same time.  Also to join Lulu will be other brilliant stars such as Atomic Kitten, Elton John and Samantha Mumba.  As soon as we know more about what song Ronan and Lulu will be singing, RKW will tell you first!

11/12/2001 - it's a friday night!

Ronan will be making an appearance on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross on 14th December (yes that's this Friday!!).  It will be broadcasted on BBC1 at 10:35pm GMT.  In addition, watch out for Ronan's appearance in a special Irish celebrity version of 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?' which will be broadcasted in Christmas.  Check out the Tour & Appearances page for all the information, plus the tour dates for his 'Destination 02' tour!

6/12/2001 - what, about the mtv asian awards?

We have some exclusive details about the first ever MTV Asian Awards 2002 to be held on the 2nd February.  We can tell you that Ronan will be co-hosting with Mandy Moore (pictured left).  Mandy is a famous Orlando pop star and was former VJ for MTV US.  Together they will present the exciting event!

The event will take place in the Singapore Indoor Stadium and will be watched by a live audience of 7,000 and will last for three hours!  The event will host 19 nominations - 11 of which will nominate the best artist in a number of countries in Asia.  In addition, there are other categories including best fashion award, best movie award and six international awards which among one of these Ronan has been voted for!!  Lastly, there is an inspirational award for the artist or organisation who has contributed to youth culture.

4/12/2001 - go east! part 2

Ronan recently did a documentary (28th November) in Northern Thailand.  We have further details of this right here!  He visited Chaing Rai to film a 30-minute documentary for UNICEF and MTV Asia.  The documentary features the current situation in Northern Thailand and looks at what UNICEF are currently doing to help stop problems of HIV and AIDS affecting young people.  This documentary is set to be shown sometime in the New Year.

3/12/2001 - nominated host

On 18th November, we mentioned about his visit to Hong Kong.  Well we have more information.  It was recently announced that Ronan is to co-host the MTV Asian Awards 2002 in Singapore on 2nd February!  On top of that he has also been nominated for Best International Male.  The event will not be twice as exciting!  But to make it even more exciting...why not vote for Ronan in this nomination!  Click here now to vote if you haven't already done so!

1/12/2001 - keeping cool at the TOTP awards

Ronan appeared in the TOTP Awards and presented the Top Single award.  He was smart in a black suit and white shirt and was chewing gum!  He was accompanied by Lulu and they put on a show!  Ronan shouted to the audience in Manchester, "How ya doin'?" and the crowd were screaming like 'maaad'!  All Ronan could do was laugh about it - but it was great!  Let's hope next year Ronan is in for the nominations - we at RKW will make sure you know first!

30/11/2001 - the destination tour is on its way!

Ronan has recently announced his brand new tour!  The 'Destination 02' Tour is one of Ronan's biggest tours to come!  He'll be starting in April and will keep going through to July 2002!  He'll be touring twenty countries in line with his exciting new album, 'Destination'!   And good news!  We have the UK tour dates!  Check out the updated Tour & Appearances page for all the information.  We'll also keep on the look out on the international tour dates - so please come back soon!

30/11/2001 - destination ronan

We have got some exclusive information about Ronan's brand new album.  It is titled 'Destination' and according to some sources is due to be released in June 2002 to coincide with Ronan's UK tour around the same time.  The smash hit, 'Lovin' Each Day' is to also feature in this brand new album.  We are still awaiting the title of Ronan's new single.  We'll keep an eye out on this release as well as the album.  So come back soon for the latest information!

...and if you thought that was all, well hear this.  An album titled 'Boyzone Ballads - The Ultimate Love Songs Collection 1993-2000' is to be released on December 10th.

29/11/2001 - ronan will be touring in 2002!

It has been announced that Ronan will be touring again in June 2002!  He'll be once again touring the UK in various arenas.  He'll be in places such as Birmingham, Sheffield, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle and London.  Tickets are due to go on sale this Saturday.  As soon as we get the tour dates, we'll let you know!  And when we do have them, we'll post them up on the Tour & Appearances page.

As for what the next single may be called still remains a mystery!  We'll be keeping track of this and let you know more about this exciting single as soon as we get it.  We are predicting that the single will be released sometime in January.  Earlier sources state that the new album will be released sometime in March.  But we'll keep you posted as this information may well change.

27/11/2002 - the boyz resolute

After many months of shame and blame from various members of Boyzone - from Mikey's blame of Ronan's abandonment to the tour this year to Shane's quite fierce remarks, it looks now that the situation has finally been resolved and left to rest.  Ronan is now best of friends again! 

Speaking to Showbiz Ireland.com, Ronan tells how he got the Boyz back to the friendly zone and the admittance of the 'end' of Boyzone: "The truth is we had fallen out. But, then two weeks ago in the airport I was checking in and Keith came over and said hello and we made up. Then Shane and myself met up in London a few days later and we talked and made up. Then like out of nowhere Mikey called me on the mobile to say hi. So, I made the final move and called Stephen and we are all going to hook up for a drink."

Upon whether Boyzone were to return, Ronan added: "Boyzone are not touring or anything we are just going to be mates again."

25/11/2001 - presenting a TOTP award

It has been announced recently that Ronan will be presenting the Top Single award alongside with Lulu for the Top Of The Pops Awards on 30th November.  It will be held at the MEN Arena, Manchester, UK and will be presented by Jamie Theakston.  Time is running out!  If you still haven't voted, then click here now!!!

23/11/2001 - your song is now on dvd

Just for interest, Elton John is going to release his 'One Night Only: The Greatest Hits' on DVD on 26th November 2001.  This event took place in Madison Square Gardens, New York last year.  You can also see Ronan duet with Elton for the song, 'Your Song'.  Ronan had to shift his 2000 tour dates last year to be able to appear in this one time event.

This month, Ronan will be making his journey east to visit Northern Thailand to film a documentary for Unicef and MTV Asia.  He'll then make his way to Hong Kong on 28th November about the documentary.  We'll give you more details about the documentary later this month, so watch out!!

12/11/2001 - a million for christmas

There's something special going on this Christmas... yes it's about Ronan but what do we mean by the headline?  Well, Ronan is to play the Irish version of 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?'.  This is a special celebrity edition and will be transmitted only in Ireland this Christmas.  We just hope that Ronan can get that million!!

5/11/2001 - appearances this november

November is the month that Ronan will be making several appearances.  Check out where Ronan will be as we give you a summary!

8th November - Ronan will be a celebrity presenter as he presents an award at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2001 in Frankfurt, Germany.  The event will host 22 nominations with appearances from Dido, Craig David and Atomic Kitten who are up for nominations.  The award ceremony will be presented by Ali G.  Why not check out MTV's official website by clicking here for further info on this event.

4/11/2001 - making no second attempt for now

Ronan has postponed his second attempt to crack the US in the wake of attacks in September.  This is due to the fact that the sales of his single, 'Lovin' Each Day' in the US haven't made any impact since its launch on the 5th June.  It has disappointing sales selling only 25,000 copies.  According to Ronan's management, they feel they have released the wrong song.  They plan to release 'Life Is A Rollercoaster' in the US next year instead of this Autumn.

Recently, Ronan has according to sources paid a sum of $2 million (£1.75 million) to launch his US campaign.  However, Ronan has done very well in Canada and it is hoped this is the starting point for success.
