19/11/2004 - ronan talks band aid exclusion |
| 7:03pm GMT
Ronan has made comments over the fact that Sir Bob Geldof (pictured) did not invite him to sing for Band Aid 20's version of 'Do They Know It's Christmas?'. Speaking to Richard & Judy on their Channel 4 show, Ronan said: "They're not going for pop acts, they want credible cool acts. If that works, fair enough, but at the end of the day they want to make money for the cause so they should think about that." Also, Westlife's Nicky Byrne commented and said to the Daily Star: "We couldn't compete with U2 or Coldplay but it would have been fantastic to have been part of it. We'd have given anything to be on that record."

7/11/2004 - boyzone to reunite without ronan |
| 10:22pm GMT
It looks like Boyzone may do the reunion tour after all but without lead Ronan in the line-up. It was previously reported that Keith Duffy, one of the members, refused to reform unless all of the Boyzone members including Ronan were together. But now, manager Louis Walsh has got the members, Keith Duffy, Stephen Gately, Shane Lynch and Mikey Graham back. He also had other ideas including taking on a new member from reality TV show, 'Pop Idol'. Walsh said: "It's official. Stephen Gately is in so that's four back, without Ronan. I am hoping to get one of earlier Pop Idol finalists, probably Brian Ormond." Walsh plans to press ahead with the reunion despite the fact that the group will have a new member.
This is from many press reports, we are not entirely clear of the situation or if it is genuinely true, but as soon as more info comes, we'll tell you here at Ronan Keating World.

Duffy is refusing to reform unless all the members including Ronan himself are all together again. Duffy said: "If I was going to get back with Boyzone I'd like to do it with Boyzone. And that means the four guys I toured with for eight years. It wouldn't be the same without each individual member." However, manager Louis Walsh stated that the reunion tour could go ahead without Ronan: "We can do it with four if we have to. There were only four Beatles and they did okay."
