24/10/2001 - ronan in germany

Ronan will appear on German TV's SAT 1 on 4th November.  He will make his appearance on the show, 'Deutschlands Wahre Helden'.  Later on, Ronan will be at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Frankfurt on the 8th November.  Check out the Tour & Appearances page for updated information on Ronan's appearances.

20/10/2001 - more about the second helping...

We have more details about Ronan's second album - it is revealed that the album will contain more rock than the debut!  Ronan spoke recently to Worldpop about the next album: "The next album is a step on for me.  The first album was very much me trying to find my sound but the next one is like an extension of Lovin' Each Day, very guitar-based, quite rock n roll."

We can also reveal that most of the songs have been co-written with ex-New Radical Gregg Alexander (pictured above) who penned Ronan's two singles, 'Life Is A Rollercoaster' and 'Lovin' Each Day'.  Ronan added: "I did of lot of writing with a lot of different songwriters and a lot of different producers. I'm doing a few other projects on the side but this next album is all Gregg and myself."

There are no details about what the next album will be called neither any details of any songs.  But we can now announce that the next single will be released in January next year with the new album to follow in March.  We will be keeping a careful eye out on these releases so keep your eyes open on Ronan Keating World!

19/10/2001 - in confrontation...in the same room

Ronan's appearance at the Pantene Pro-V Hair & Beauty Awards 2001 on 17th October faced a bizarre twist.  It so happened that ex-Boyzone band member, Shane Lynch was also at the event!  Recently has Ronan and Shane faced public bust up, but it was in a long while that the two appeared in the same room!  Shane talked to The Sun after the event and said: "I didn't know he was going to be here. I hope he can catch bottles."

18/10/2001 - helping hands for charity

Ronan gave a helping hand for charity.  He along with a number of pop stars such as Atomic Kitten, Geri Halliwell, Victoria Beckham, S Club 7 and Ant & Dec, donated their handprints with signed autographs.  These were framed and are going to be auctioned.  The money raised will go to NSPCC.  Their Full Stop Campaign is to stop cruelty to children.  You can have a look at these handprints by visiting the NSPCC website by clicking here.  If you want to bid, either ring NSPCC's bid line on 0870 606 6004 or visiting any Gap clothes store and picking up a bidding form.

The top three bidders will be invited to a celebrity gala auction at Gap's store in London, UK on 6th November.  They will get the chance to meet all the stars...and of course Ronan!!!

16/10/2001 - smash hits poll winners' party time!

Ronan is in it again!  He's been nominated in the Woolworths Smash Hits T4 Poll Winners' Party 2001.  In fact, Ronan has been nominated in four categories!  These are:
- Best Male
- Best Live Act
- Most Fanciable Male
- and...Best Male Haircut!!!
The award ceremony will take place on Sunday 9th December at the London Arena, UK.  The only way Ronan will win these awards is if you, the fans, put some input - by voting for him!!  So go on Ronan fans out there, vote for him in these categories by visiting the official Poll Winners' Party website by clicking here!  Go on, give Ronan another chance to win more awards!

14/10/2001 - the second's on the way...

We are all eager to know what is happening about Ronan's second album. Ronan is currently finishing it off and it now appears to be due for release some time early next year.  We are still keeping an eye out on the long-awaited release of 'Ronan' in the US.  We'll tell you more about this and the new album as soon as we get the news, so watch this space!

12/10/2001 - please respect ronan

Ronan feels that he hasn't been given the boosted support in his home country of Ireland.  He feels that Irish fans haven't given him the same respect as that of U2.  He told MTV about what he felt was wrong about the situation: "It's hard going from being the golden boy and everybody wanting a piece of you to people taking the p*** and slagging you".  He added: "I'd love to come home to this country, like U2 do, and have people shake your hand and say 'Fair play to you'.  We're all ambassadors for our country and people forget that."  

9/10/2001 - ronan to appear in a benefit show

Ronan will be making an appearance at the City Of Hope benefit show at the Universal Studios in Los Angeles, California, USA on the 11th October.  This show is specially hosted by City Of Hope who are an organisation who help millions of people in the US who are battling life-threatening diseases.

3/10/2001 - surprise, surprise!  it's...ronan!

Be very surprised if you are seeing Paul Brady (pictured left) on the 30th October at Vicar Street, Dublin, Ireland.  Because Ronan will make a special appearance by surprise!  Hey!  We at RKW ask you to do a favour, if you are going to this event - be prepared to be surprised, or it wouldn't be a surprise would it?!

3/10/2001 - ronan's beauty spot

Ronan will be performing at the Pantene Pro-V Hair & Beauty Awards in the Royal Albert Hall, London, UK on the 17th October.  This awards ceremony is in its second year awarding those who have produced the finest hair and beauty products as well as those involved within it including models and make-up artists.  There is also going to be other star guests including Lorraine Kelly, Helena Bonham-Carter, Kate Thornton and Dannii Minogue.

27/9/2001 - stars in his eyes

Ronan has recently announced that he wants to star in a movie.  He has been influenced since the time he met Julia Roberts on the night of the premiere for the movie, 'Notting Hill'.  Ronan's 'When You Say Nothing At All' featured in the soundtrack of the same movie.

It was said that Ronan was about to take a role in the recent movie, 'Moulin Rouge', however the part was taken instead by Ewan MacGregor.

Ronan talked to MTV about taking part in movies, he said "That was the seal of approval. But I want to take some acting classes in Los Angeles. It's not something a singer can just turn around and do."

In addition, the long-awaited US release of 'Ronan' will be released in a couple of weeks time.  We'll update you when we get the details.

26/9/2001 - ronan to appear at the MTV awards

Ronan will be a celebrity presenter at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Frankfurt, Germany on the 8th November.  The event will be presented by Ali G.  Though Ronan is not in for nominations, there are many artists attending including Atomic Kitten (pictured above), Dido (pictured left middle), Craig David (pictured left), U2 and the Gorillaz.  In total, there are 22 nominations.  For more information about this event and for how to vote, check the official MTV website by clicking here.

26/9/2001 - ronan in europe

Ronan will be making some further appearances in Europe this coming October.  He'll be at the NRJ Show in Lille, France on the 5th October and then will be performing on the 6th October (Yes!  The next day!) on Pepsi Pop in Rotterdam, Holland.  For full listings of Ronan's appearances, check out the Tour & Appearances section.

23/9/2001 - officially nominated

The Online Music Awards, in association with dotmusic, is getting closer and the voting has finished!  Ronan's official website is up for two awards.  Firstly, it has been shortlisted for the People's Choice Award.  It has been picked out among the six to compete against other sites including Atomic Kitten's Official Website as well as A1 (Official), Gorillaz (Unofficial), Radiohead (Unofficial) and Westlife (Official).  The second is the Best Artist Online award.  We wish the Official Ronan Website the best of luck.  The award ceremony will take part on the 27th September at Ocean, Hackney, London.

22/9/2001 - truly awarded

Ronan was unfortunately stranded in Canada when the Hit Awards took part on the 15th September in Norway.  Though, he wasn't there, he won two awards!  He won Best Male and also won the Hit Of The Year award for his smash hit single, 'Lovin' Each Day'!  We would like to congratulate Ronan on his success and indeed he was truly awarded!

19/9/2001 - driving the three millionth

Ronan is going to be driving!  He'll be heading down to Solihill, West Midlands to visit the Land Rover Plant on the 1st October to drive the three millionth Land Rover car ever produced from the assembly line!  Ronan last year was involved with Land Rover and designed his own dream Land Rover car for charity at the Motor Show, NEC, Birmingham, UK (pictured left).  He commented about his design saying: "I’ve been passionate about Land Rover for years and it was a real pleasure to help conceive a Land Rover for the future.  I tried to make my design look as sporty as possible while preserving the characteristics of this great 4x4 brand."

Ronan's been a real fan of Land Rover's and to get the opportunity to drive one is going to be one very special day!

18/9/2001 - several cancellations

In light of the troubled events in the U.S., Ronan was unable to attend the Hit Awards in Norway.  Because of the events, Ronan was stranded in Toronto, Canada because all flights were stalled.  However, Ronan is back!  In addition to the troubled events, the Ryder Cup Gala Dinner at the NEC, Birmingham, UK which was supposed to take place on the 26th September has been cancelled.  Check out the Tour & Appearances page for the latest information on where Ronan will be.

13/9/2001 - a property for sale

Ronan Keating's got a house to sell.  It is a four-bedroom house in the K-Club Golf Course Complex, Country Kildare in Ireland.  It overlooks the fifth fairway of the golf course.  It is selling at a price of £1 million and includes course membership!

Why?  It's because Ronan never ever lived in this house!  In fact, he bought it earlier this year and then decided to live in a house he found in Malahide instead.  As a result, the house hadn't been sold for a while and is now on the housing market.  We at Ronan Keating World wonders who will buy it?  

5/9/2001 - an online nomination

Ronan Keating's official website has been shortlisted in the category for best pop artist online award at this year's UK Online Music Awards.  The superb official website was chosen from lots of other sites to be among five to be nominated for the prestigious award.  Ronan Keating's official site will be competing against the likes of the official sites from Atomic Kitten (pictured above left), Craig David (pictured above right), Five and Geri Halliwell.  Good luck to Ronan Keating's official site in the awards!  By the way, we also hope Atomic Kitten's official site does well since we are also big fans of the Kittens.  We also have our own unofficial site on them if you didn't know - called Atomic Kitten Active.  And there's more!  Atomic Kitten Active is in the same UK Online Music Awards hoping to get the chance to win the People's Choice Award (or just to at least get into the Top 50 sites!)  You can vote for Atomic Kitten Active if you decide to check it out!
