29/9/2004 - ronan comments on refusal of stevens in US

4:03pm BST

Ronan commented on how ludricrous it was for his friend, Cat Stevens who has renamed himself Yusuf Islam after converting to Islam, to be refused entry to the US just because his name was on their terrorist 'watch list'.   Ronan said: "It's aboslutely horrendous. He's the most peaceful, gentle man in the world. They got it wrong, I think they know that, but I don't think he's been told yet.  We were talking on the phone yesterday about it. I mean, he can't believe it, in fact, he was laughing about it. I suppose it's the only way to look at it. Because he is the gentlest man I've ever met."

It was then turned on a subject of rumours that Ronan and Yusuf Islam would collaborate on the hit, 'Father And Son'.  Ronan said he doesn't know anything yet.  And on whether it could be a potential Christmas No.1, he laughed "Let's not even go there! That's dangerous territory..." .

5:27pm BST

It seems quite interesting, but Ronan revealed that he was about to be offered a role as a judge for ITV's music reality TV show, 'The X Factor'.  The position was taken up by Louis Walsh instead who joins Simon Cowell and Sharon Osbourne as the judges.  Ronan explained how the offer came about: "Simon Cowell wanted me to do The X Factor instead of Louis. My record label turned it down before I knew about it.  I don't know whether I would have done it. I'm probably too busy at the moment but it was nice of Simon to ask me. He called me just the other day."  Can you imagine how interesting 'The X Factor' might have been?

4/9/2004 - is boyzone going on tour without ronan?

5:04pm BST

It's the same old story time and time again, but are Boyzone going on tour without Ronan?  According to Irish tabloids, the other Boyzone members, Mikey Graham, Stephen Gately, Keith Duffy and Shane Lynch are keen to get back and do a tour together without front man Ronan!  According to the tabloids, the other members will plan a tour next year and are even planning to get a replacement for Ronan in the process.  It also claims that Stephen Gately and manager Louis Walsh were in talks to get a "younger" and "better looking" Ronan replacement.  This is totally come out of the blue and we are not convinced by the story at all.  But we'll see what happens to Boyzone soon (hopefully).
