4/8/2001 - shane gets heavy-handed with ronan

5:00pm BST

Shane LynchThe rifts amongst the members of Boyzone have taken another dramatic twist as one of them, Shane Lynch (pictured left), voiced his fury over Ronan Keating.  Shane made it clear that he felt it was Ronan to blame for the apparent collapse of the boy group.  In speaking to The Sun, Lynch said of Ronan: "I want to punch his lights out...I just hope I never run into him again. I will put him down so hard. One day the Devil will visit him."  Lynch had no reservations about Ronan's own pursuit of his solo career but felt that the former lead singer had let the other boyz down by abandoning a tour of the group.  "We all decided to take a year out.  He said he was going to do a solo album and then come back to do our tour."  Lynch is currently involved in a new hip-hop group titled Redhill along with Ben from Phats & Small with a new single from them to be released.

2/8/2001 - serving more ages

7:07pm BST

Ronan KeatingRonan aiming to promote himself in the US, but until recently during his solo tour, the audience has not only attracted the young fans but has also attracted the much older audience too!  In an interview with the Daily Record, Ronan says: "It brings out the hunger in you.  I'm not jaded yet. I love what I do. My solo career is taking off but I still have a lot to prove."

In addition, Ronan was surprised with the audience he received during his solo tour and added: "The first five or six rows are filled with teen fans but behind them you can see couples and people my age and older. It's bizarre to see that change so quickly."

We at Ronan Keating World like to add that Ronan has indeed attracted audiences of all ages as his music is widely diverse upbeat and ballad tunes especially have been real favourites.

Ronan Keating thanked all those who supported him in the establishment of a new cancer charity.  The charity, The Marie Keating Foundation will aim to spread awareness of cancer through the despatch of mobile units throughout Ireland, and was set up in memory of Ronan's mother.  When speaking to Smash Hits magazine Ronan said: "The charity was set up after we lost mam. We've finally got three mobile units on the road positioned throughout Ireland where people can go on board and talk about cancer and become more aware of it and how it can affect both men and women.  To anyone out there who's helped out or donated money, I want to say a big thank you."

11/7/2001 - the fourth party

12:52pm BST

Here at Ronan Keating World, we present to you a special report on this year's Capital FM's Party In The Park 2001 in Hyde Park, London, UK.  We hope you enjoy it!

On Sunday 8th July 2001, on a pretty good day was the biggest event of the year - Party In The Park 2001!  Now with a crowd of 100,000 people watching in Hyde Park, London, how could Ronan possibly sing bravely among the crowd?  Well it was a simple task in hand!  Ronan is the veteran of Party In The Park!  He's done it before in fact four times already (in fact every single Party In The Park since)!  He did it with Boyzone in 1998 and 1999 and done it solo last year and this year!

So how did it all go you are asking?  A spectacular show it was!  When Ronan came on stage there was so much excitement!  He entered the stage with a red-brown leather jacket and cool blue denim (the one we're so familiar with on his many release covers!) underneath to greet the audience with one of the greatest performances ever yet!  He came out with his top four singles!  He started off the show with his smash hit single, 'Lovin' Each Day' and the crowd went absolutely bonkers!  Everyone enjoyed each moment of that song and Ronan got London dancing!  After, it was the wonderful 'The Way You Make Me Feel' and yet another great performance on stage!

Far and wide were watching Ronan as he mentioned that not far away from Hyde Park was a place called Notting Hill... now that was a giveaway wasn't it?  Everyone knew what song was next and everyone knew the words to that song and of course would Ronan sing 'When You Say Nothing At All' all by himself??  He got the crowd singing part of the song and no one failed to get the lyrics wrong - it was perfect on a summer's day.

To end off this amazing show, he sang his perfect number 1 hit, 'Life Is A Rollercoaster' and got the audience to jump, dance and clap to this song!  Our favourite and the song to sing along he made it fun and interactive.  For Ronan it was time to let the audience sing this song - and pointed the microphone to the crowd who sang enthusiastically to the song.  You could hear Ronan shout "All Night Long!" as the crowd did their bit!  A powerful ending got the audience cheering like 'maaad'!  Ronan thanked the audience as he departed the stage - awesome!

So what did the crowd have when he got on stage?  Well there were many Ronan fans who had banners and posters waving to the man himself and with the big words such as 'RONAN KEATING' and 'I LOVE RONAN' (with a picture too!) it all shows that Ronan is here to stay for a very long time!  Knowing Ronan, if he has done PITP every single year since it started there will be no doubt that Ronan will turn up to next year's PITP!  We are very sure that he'll be singing new tunes and all the classics that everyone all knows!  Thanks Ronan (and the other artists!) for a wonderful day!
