24/5/2001 - ronan faces rough fan shuffle

8:00pm BST

Fans went crazy as they passed by security at Newcastle's Telewest Arena on Ronan's current UK tour to confront Ronan.  It is claimed that fans pulled at Ronan's hair, hung from his neck and tore his clothing.  In The Sun, "These girls just went crazy. There was a tangle of arms and legs as people crushed forward. Ronan looked flustered and in pain" stated one fan.  Ronan was left with a strained neck and looked hurt by the incident.  The concert went ahead despite.

15/5/2001 - steve liked ro's old teeth

10:05pm BST

Stephen GatelySpeaking to Worldpop, Stephen Gately (pictured left) from Boyzone felt that Ronan's decision to have a major and supposedly costly teeth job should not have been taken.  "I'm sure he did it for himself as well, but I thought they were a bit of a trademark. I actually really liked his teeth! But he's got to do what makes him happy."  Ronan supposedly had the work on his teeth done to help his forthcoming promotional chances in the USA.

14/5/2001 - doubting any boyzone tour

7:30pm BST

In the latest debate over a near-future Boyzone tour, Stephen Gately, one of the members of Boyzone, felt that a tour of the band seemed unlikely.  Speaking to Worldpop, Stephen said: "I'm disappointed because I'd love to do a tour.  I would like to say thank you to the fans. But it doesn't look like it's going to happen. Could it happen in a couple of years? Possibly, but then one of us might not be able to do it. Keith may be busy or I might not be ready. It might just be that when Ronan is ready to do a tour the four of us aren't."  Stephen himself is planning a diversion into the film industry and possibly TV and stage musical work.  He has already scored highly in his own pop solo career with his recent single, 'Stay' taken from his latest album, 'New Beginning'.
