| 1998 The rise and fall of Honeyhead |
And so in 1998, former OMD
member, Andy McCluskey set about with a project to launch a new girl band.
It was still early days since new recruits for the band were needed. A
formulation emerged in the form of a group called 'Honeyhead'. This was
created by McCluskey and co-writer, Stuart Kershaw. Honeyhead became
material through an advert in The Stage but the fame didn't last long and
this early 'prototype' of a band dissolved as fast as it had started.
Reflecting on this, McCluskey said: "The chemistry didn't work, and the
band didn't get anywhere fast enough for them to bury their differences
and get on with the hard work."
