HEADLINE: Playing
the racing crowds
18/8/2003, 6:30pm BST
Atomic
Kitten once again demonstrated their outstanding live
performances to a huge sell-out crowd at the Newmarket
Friday Evening Meetings gig on the 15th August 2003.
The special series of gigs held at the Newmarket Racecourse
in the UK saw many music acts take to the stage. The
Kittens played to a crowd of around 20,000 following an
evening's worth of horse racing and became an instant
favourite with all the spectators. Earlier this week,
rumours had circulated that the Kittens weren't going to
perform at the gig at all but all this was cast aside as
they performed brilliantly at Newmarket!!!

HEADLINE: Release
date suggestions
18/8/2003, 5:30pm BST
Speculation surrounds the possible release dates for the new
single and album from Atomic Kitten. The next releases
mark another milestone in the Kittens' discography as they
will be moving onto their third studio album and the new
single will be the first material to come off this new
album. A suggested, although speculative date for the
new single possibly titled 'If You Come To Me', although
this too is still speculative, is the 22nd September 2003.
The album release date is less clear with a possible release
late September or early October 2003. No details on
these new releases has been confirmed with certainty, nor
officially. The releases will precede a major UK tour
by Atomic Kitten in November-December 2003 - the tour dates
can be found on the
Tour & Appearances
(TOURAPP.HTM)

HEADLINE: Lil's
football passion
11/8/2003, 3:00pm BST
Lil spoke of her passion for football and her favourite
football club, Everton, to BBC's Sport Academy. Her
football passion extends right back to early days when she
played the game often. She's also followed Everton all
the way and looks to team star, Wayne Rooney as a hero.
She said: "I've been lucky enough to meet Wayne Rooney and
he was very, very nice, if a bit quiet. He's really
sweet and fantastic for us. He's brought a lot of
publicity to Everton as well." On her own play of the
game: "I used to play a lot of football but I don't really
have time any more. I was a centre forward before I
joined the band, but now I wouldn't be able to play for a
team every week." And on the new football season: "I
can't wait for the new football season to start."
