Whole Again - a success in a year!!!

29/12/2001, 1:00pm GMT
'Whole Again' must surely be the biggest success story of the Kittens' successes this year!!!  The brilliant single which was released in the UK on the 29th January of this year peaked at the UK No.1 singles chart position for 4 weeks and became a massive selling single, with sales figures approaching 1 million towards the end of this year!!!  To add to this, 'Whole Again' scored No.1 positions and maintained these for many weeks in countries across Europe and the rest of the world!!!  The Pepsi Chart this Sunday (30th December) hosted by top DJ, Dr. Fox will see 'Whole Again' as one of the contenders for the biggest selling single release this year!  The biggest seller will be revealed on the Sunday.  Reflecting on the single's success, Lil said: "['Whole Again' was] No.1 in Germany for six weeks, New Zealand for six weeks, all over Europe".  Tash said: "It ['Whole Again'] was in the charts longer than any other girl band songs in any charts...we're the only band so far this year been at No.1 for four weeks".  We hope 'Whole Again' scores as the biggest selling single of the year which we're sure it is!!!

     Scary Kittens?

28/12/2001, 12:00pm GMT
Recently speaking to CD:UK magazine, Jen described how since becoming a Kitten, fewer men are getting to know her closely:
"I get chatted up less nowadays...It's not often I go out and when I'm out with Tash and Liz, we scare men off.  When I go out with my friends they're so protective they look at any guy like he's some weirdo stalker".  Jen also mentioned how hectic life had become: I knew before that being successful in a band was a mixture of hard work and and good luck, but I had no idea how mad our lives would get this year."

     Festively going places
27/12/2001, 6:00pm GMT
Shortly before Christmas, the Kittens were asked where they'd be taking time out to spend their Christmas and New Year.  Speaking to Worldpop, Tash said: "I'll be going away with my family."  Lil said she'd be going home: "I'm going to Liverpool to spend it with the family and have a Crimbo dinner.  My mum's promised we can have a house party on New Year's Eve too although she may regret it on New Year's Day!"  Jen described of a more exotic Christmas: "I'm going to the Far East to sunbathe and get brown and eat lots of nice things."  We hope they're having a nice Christmas and that they'll have a brilliant New Year.  The Kittens have some time off work which they definitely deserve for all their hard work this year!!!

     Kerry saved Bryan
19/12/2001, 8:00pm GMT
Bryan McFadden (pictured), one of the members of the highly successful all-male group, Westlife, revealed how Kerry Katona, the former Kitten, saved him from a life that would have drawn him to drugs.  Kerry and Bryan became engaged at Christmas of 1999 after knowing each other since they first met in mid-1999.  They are due to get married at the start of next month.  Talking to the Daily Mirror, Bryan said: "If Kerry hadn't come into my life I would be on drugs by now.  I was so unhappy that I would probably have needed something like that...Without her coming into my life, Westlife wouldn't be where it is today.  We had been travelling so much and doing endless promotion and all the spirit in me was being sucked out.  I wasn't happy any more.  Kerry put my feet back on the ground and brought back all the happiness.  I'm high on life again.  We're so happy and we're planning to have another baby next year."  They have a daughter, Molly, who was born in September of this year.

     Talking about the new album...
3/12/2001, 7:00am GMT
Recently, the Kittens spoke about their work on their next album to Worldpop.  Jen, who after Kerry's departure from the band didn't have the opportunity to fully contribute to the Kittens' latest album, 'Right Now' said "I didn't get a chance to do anything on the first album so I've written the B-side to our next single, 'You Are'".  The B-side Jen's speaking about is the new 'True Friends'.  Jen felt it was nice to write something different to just songs about romances: "I thought I'd write something a bit different so I wrote a song about my best mates.  After all the trouble we've been through over the years we're still there for each other".  Lil and Tash have also had a go at writing songs for the Kittens' next album.  Lil described of the songwriting: "It's so much fun".  She described one of her two songs to be called 'Imagination': "It's about this guy who thinks this girl is a bit of a naughty one and she's saying 'I may have this reputation and I'm just so not like that'".  The next album will be out next year, along with the Kittens' next single, 'You Are'.  Only recently did the Kittens release their brilliant DVD/VHS video, 'So Far So Good' which is out now!!!
