Worded again 'Whole Again' |
|
 |
24/8/2001,
6:00pm BST
Further amendments have had to be made to 'Whole
Again', the Kittens' big hit single, for the
American market which the band are hoping to
conquer. The change involves a lyric line:
"You just turn me on" to become
"You can do no wrong". Speaking to
The Sun, a spokesperson said: "Some people in America thought the lyrics were a bit too adult for their market so the line had to be
changed". Only recently, did Atomic
Kitten have to re-record the video for 'Whole
Again' to attract the US music market because it was claimed that it was not
'sexy enough'. |

Kittens perform at huge V2001 |
|
 |
21/8/2001,
6:00pm BST
The weekend saw Atomic Kitten perform to packed
crowds at the huge music event V2001 organised by
Virgin. The Kittens were on stage performing
their No.1 hit singles, 'Eternal Flame' and 'Whole
Again', along with other great songs like 'Right
Now' and 'I Want Your Love'. The Kittens
performed two days at the event. On the
first day trouble stirred up when the Kittens were
pelted by objects from some parts of the
audience. The second day was fortunately
more pleasant for the Kittens. The huge music event took place at two
locations: Weston Park, Staffordshire and Hylands
Park, Chelmsford. Other huge name acts to be
included in the final line-up were: Texas, Red Hot Chili
Peppers, Kylie Minogue, Nelly Furtado, Groove
Armada, Coldplay, plus many, many more other big
name artists!

Atomic Kitten strike gold! |
|
 |
12/8/2001,
8:00pm BST
It's definite! Atomic Kitten have proved
that they are a real massive pop act with their
'Right Now' album which has gone straight in at
the No.1 UK album chart position! The album
which was released last week and features the No.1
singles 'Eternal Flame' (now at No.2 this week)
and 'Whole Again' went right to the top following
the massive success with 'Eternal Flame'.
'Right Now' displaced 'White Ladder', the
top-seller from big name artist, David Gray
(pictured above). The final UK album chart
positions, for this week, are as follows:
|
1.
Atomic Kitten - Right Now |
|
2.
David Gray - White Ladder |
|
3.
Prince - The Very Best Of |
|
4.
Destiny's Child - Survivor |
|
5.
Wyclef Jean - The Ecleftic - Two Sides To
A Book |
Our biggest congratulations go
to the Kittens for both a No.1 album and two
brilliant No.1 singles!!!

New Coogan movie previews |
|
 |
9/8/2001,
5:00pm BST
Atomic Kitten were out on the town last night when
they made an appearance at the special premiere
showing of the new hilarious movie, 'The Parole
Officer' which stars comedian Steve Coogan
(pictured left with the Kittens).
The premiere took place at the Empire in London's
Leicester Square. Coogan known best for his Alan Partridge
impressions on TV plays Simon Garden, a probation
officer whose career has seen him rehabilitate
only three criminals. But then Garden gets
framed for a murder he didn't commit and the only
way to save himself is to break into a bank vault
and retrieve a vital piece of evidence.
However, he needs a bit of help and who else does
he turn to but his former clients who assist in
robbing the bank and in so doing setting up a real
comedy storyline! The latest Kittens No.1
single, 'Eternal Flame' will be making an appearance
in the movie and the music video will be changed
to feature clips from 'The Parole Officer'.
The new movie was written by Coogan himself with
Henry Normal and is directed by John Duigan.
Other guests attending the premiere included Hugh
Grant (best known for his main role in 'Notting
Hill'), Neil Morissey from TV's 'Men Behaving
Badly', Richard Wilson (from the now-gone 'One
Foot In The Grave' comedy), comedian Harry
Enfield, presenter Vanessa Feltz and Gabrielle Richens, Channel 5
presenter. (Picture source: Ananova).

7/8/2001,
6:30pm BST
Winner of top show 'Big Brother', Brian Dowling
will be accompanying the Kittens on stage when
they play their first live gig at the Shepherd's

Kitten No.1 single, 'Whole Again' on 'Big
Brother'. In return, on his victory at the
Big Brother house the Kittens decided to phone him
to congratulate him. Lil told The Sun
newspaper: "We rang him up to say well done
and thank you - he just went crazy! Then we
had this wicked idea to get him on stage. He's
going to introduce us and then there'll be a few
surprises later." The gig takes place
on 17th August. This will be followed by a
star-studded weekend V2001 at which the Kittens
will play taking place on the 18th and 19th August
at Weston Park, Staffordshire. And as a
side-note, if that wasn't enough 'Big Brother' for
you, another contestant, Dean O'Loughlin will be
at V2001 on the 19th August at Hylands Park,
Chelmsford. He made his musical fame playing
the guitar on the show and Richard Branson decided
to sign him up for an appearance at the big live
