First gig goes down a storm in South Africa! |
|
 |
20/6/2003, 7:20pm BST
Atomic Kitten wowed the crowds in Cape Town last Wednesday
(18th June)! To kick start the evening, support act
Candice performed material from her album 'Chasing Your
Tomorrows' giving the evening a convincing start...but then
came along South Africa's Popstars winners, 101 who got the
audience really interactive and up for it! However the
actual evening was taken by Atomic Kitten! The crowds
loved each and every song the Kittens performed - singing,
cheering, swaying!!! The classics 'Whole Again', 'It's
OK!', 'Eternal Flame', 'The Tide Is High (Get The Feeling)'
and to end off the night, a brilliant performance of 'Be
With You'. The Fat Cats did a brilliant job as a band
and gave a whole new dimension to the show! So there
you have it, an excellent first gig making fans wanting
more...!
The Kittens are doing their last gig today in Carnival
City, Johannesburg and have already performed yesterday!
But the fans in South Africa love the Kittens and this
report shows proof of it!

Atomic Kitten take on South Africa! |
|
 |
18/6/2003, 6:30pm BST
Atomic Kitten are in South Africa doing some gigs in front
of their fans tonight in Cape Town and will go on to
Johannesburg tomorrow and Friday. But yesterday ahead
of their gigs, the Kittens arrived in Cape Town. The
Kittens were apparently on about boys and the cold weather.
Jen joked: "We did not realise it would be so cold."
She then went on about how great it is to be back in Cape
Town: "It is wonderful to be back in the Cape. We filmed the
music video for 'It's OK!' here and I made a lot of friends.
I cannot wait to see them again."
Lil said she was particularly looking out for pretty
boys: "Tonight and tomorrow night we will hit the city's
nightclubs. I have high hopes for what these parties could
deliver. Meanwhile, I also want to go shopping."
Tash described that they are down to earth, ordinary
people: "People like us because we are ordinary girls who do
normal things. We do not live on a pedestal. Like other
girls we like watching soaps on television, socialising,
talking on the phone and shopping. The public relate to us
and can strive to do the same things we do." Jen
added: "We realise that we have a responsibility to the
public and that we are seen as role models, but we are only
young girls that make mistakes as well. Luckily we are not
controversial."
