Blur's Albarn says Kittens should be off charts
21/6/2001, 8:00pm BST
The Kittens faced new attack from Damon Albarn, lead with band, Blur.  Speaking to Ananova, Albarn felt that the Kittens should be banned from the charts because they didn't play any musical instruments.  Tash fought back stating firmly: "They think they're special because they write their songs and play their instruments and we don't.  Who cares who writes the songs if you can stand on stage and put your heart and soul into a song?  I could sing Albarn off the stage! We haven't met half the people who have dissed us and I don't understand why complete strangers start slagging us off".

     Video shoot for 'Eternal Flame'

18/6/2001, 5:30pm BST
The Kittens have been filming their new music video for their forthcoming new single, 'Eternal Flame'.  The single to be released towards the end of July is a cover version of the hit that got the Bangles, an 80s all-female group to the No.1 spot.  The Kittens are hoping to do the same with the song.  Lil spoke to The Sun about the new single: "I was eight when the Bangles version came out and I absolutely loved it. It's one of those songs everyone remembers.  We don't want to think it's going to Number 1 because we don't want to jinx ourselves.  When we took on U2 and beat them with 'Whole Again' it was totally unreal and I didn't want to believe it until it had happened. We're doing the same with this, if it happens it happens. There is a lot more pressure now but it's much more exciting".
