     Lil splits from Blue's Lee

28/3/2002, 6:00pm GMT
Lil has split from Lee Ryan (pictured), one of the members of the highly popular all-male group, Blue, after a few months dating each other.  They first got to know each other more while they were stranded in New York, following the tragic events on September 11th, last year.  They were seen together at the wedding of Bryan McFadden and former Kitten, Kerry, at the start of January, this year.  The split comes about because of the busy schedules that both Lil and Lee have with the commitments to their own bands and that as a result, they were seeing very little of each other.

Kittens give help to ill child
13/3/2002, 7:00am GMT
Atomic Kitten are aiming to raise money for a 6-year old child who is in need of a life-saving operation in the USA for a very rare condition called neuroblastoma.  Robyn Brooks is affected by the condition which involves the spine.  Half-a-million pounds is needed to send her to the USA and already £125,000 has been raised by Robyn's parents with the help of neighbours and friends in Rochdale, UK, where they live.  To help in the cause, Atomic Kitten have donated £1 from every ticket sold at the gig in Manchester, UK and are working to find other ways to raise more money.  Atomic Kitten appeared yesterday (12th March) morning on 'GMTV' on ITV to speak of the appeal.  They said that they had fallen in love with Robyn as soon as they had met her and aim to provide their full support.  You can find out more about the appeal at the Official Atomic Kitten website.  If you would like to donate some money to the appeal you can write to: Robyn Brooks Appeal, Karen Brooks, PO Box 266, Rochdale, England, OL12 0XB.

     Kerry is best celebrity mum!!!
8/3/2002, 7:30am GMT
Kerry, the former Kitten, has been voted Best Celebrity Mum of the Year in a special poll by the toy company, The Blue Foot Bear Company.  To mark this special award, Kerry was given a Super Mum teddybear at a special ceremony held in London on Wednesday (6th March).  The NSPCC will receive a donation of 50 teddybears from The Blue Foot Bear Company.  Kerry was more than delighted to have received the coveted title: "All I've ever wanted to be is a mum and have my own family.  To get an award for it is amazing."  Kerry beat off competition from TV presenter, Davina McCall (pictured centre) and former Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham (pictured right).  Kerry, who is herself now a TV presenter, scored the majority 21% of the votes in the special poll, followed by Davina with 20% and Victoria with 12%.  Also in the running for the title included: Cherie Blair (who came 4th), TV presenter, Ulrika Jonsson and actress, Kate Winslet while at the bottom saw names like actress, Daniella Westbrook and former All Saints star, Nicole Appleton.  The title of Best Celebrity Mum was won last year by former Hear'say member, Kym Marsh but this year she didn't appear amongst the host of celebrities in this poll.  Kerry gave birth to her baby daughter, named Molly, back in September of last year with Westlife star, Bryan McFadden.  The two got married in January this year.  Congratulations to Kerry for being Best Celebrity Mum!!!

Tash to take time off after birth of new son

7/3/2002, 6:30am GMT
Following the official announcement that Tash is four months pregnant, Tash has said that she'll be taking time off work after her new baby son is born.  Tash will have her new son with fiancé, Fran Cosgrave, a former security guard for successful pop group, Westlife.  They're expecting their new child in August this year.  Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Tash made it clear that she had no plans to permanently leave Atomic Kitten which was what former Kitten, Kerry did when she was expecting her child with Westlife member, Bryan McFadden.  Tash said: "Being in Atomic Kitten is my dream job.  I'm not going to give it up that easily.  Kerry's time in Atomic Kitten had come to an end.  She wanted to get into TV presenting and decided to leave.  The band is my life so I'm not leaving.  I will have two months off after the birth and then we will all be back.  I don't think having a baby will have a bad effect on us as a group."  Tash believes that the birth will fit in with her commitments to the band and gave examples of how it worked out with other groups: "When the All Saints started, one of them already had a child, and starting families didn't harm the Spice Girls.  It's inevitable with a girl band that one or all will become mums."  Tash is absolutely delighted to be having a baby and is keen on having children of her own especially after Kerry announced that she was expecting hers: "I found out I was pregnant when I came back to work in January and told my parents a couple of days later.  The baby wasn't planned but I have always wanted kids.  Since Kerry became a mum last August I've been feeling pretty broody so I was really excited when I found out.  I wanted to scream out the news to the world but I couldn't."  Tash felt she had to let Lil and Jen know first before the public got to know of the good news: "If I was a solo artist, I could have told everyone but I had to tell the other girls first.  I only told them and my manager last week once I knew everything was fine.  They were delighted for me and Fran and we haven't stopped the baby talk."  Tash and Fran have already thought up names for their new son with candidates being Josh or Corey.  Both Tash and Fran met at a gig and got ever closer, getting engaged at the end of April last year.  They've already bought a house worth £800,000 in West London, UK.  Recently, Kerry and Bryan had their baby daughter in September, last year, whom they named Molly.  In January this year, Bryan and Kerry got married.
