kerry to take on a solo singing career!

According to some sources, ex-Atomic Kitten member, Kerry McFadden is to take on a solo singing career!  It has been reported that some songs have already been written and prepared by Kerry's husband and Westlife member, Bryan.  The Queen Of The Jungle winner of the reality TV show, 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!' is seriously considering it and is reportedly taking some singing lessons to gear up for this career.  She told sources about the idea: "I miss performing and I am determined to get back up onstage and in the charts. My husband Bryan has written some great songs for me, and I intend to them justice with my singing lessons."  But she's not the only one that has been inspired by relaunching her solo career, third place celebrity Peter Andre has already relaunched his singing career and is set to get his first UK No.1 in years this Sunday with his rerelease of 'Mysterious Girl'.

You can now check out Right Now 2004 video on the music TV channel, The Box!  Simply select number 317 for it!  This is of course on the a-side tracks featured on Atomic Kitten's forthcoming new single along side, 'Someone Like Me' to be released on 29th March 2004!  Both versions have been remixed and rerecorded - so there is definitely something new to look forward too!  We are still awaiting details of when the video for 'Someone Like Me' will be available on The Box, but as soon as it is known, well tell you here at Atomic Kitten Active, so come back soon!!!

jen slams kerry!

Kerry has done well and became Queen Of The Jungle recently in 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!'.  But according to The Daily Mirror, Jen is apparently furious about comments made by Kerry about the band in the jungle.  She told the newspaper: "She's off her head if she thinks she was hard done by in the band. I can't believe what she was saying."   Kerry said in the jungle that she was the founding member of Atomic Kitten, but Jen hit back saying: "That's rubbish.  Liz McClarnon started the band with Kerry - it was never just Kerry's band.  All I can think is that the lack of food in the jungle made her delirious and totally lose her grip on reality."  In addition, it was claimed that Kerry said that Jen mimed over her vocals to the UK No.1 hit, 'Whole Again', but Jen said it was really her own voice: "It was my voice.  She did the video.  There was no way I'd appear in a video singing over Kerry's vocals.  They were my vocals in the video not hers.  That's absolute crap."

greatest hits tour begins!

That's right!  Atomic Kitten's Greatest Hits Tour 2004 begins tonight as they begin their 16 date tour across UK and Ireland!  They will be in Plymouth tonight and will be coming to a town near you very soon!  Announced recently was the support act - Duel (pictured).  These two guys will be playing across the UK and Ireland with Atomic Kitten!  The duo are two violinists who have excellent talent - check them out if your going to the gigs!  And enjoy!!!

It has been officially announced that Atomic Kitten's new double a-side single, 'Someone Like Me'/'Right Now' will be released on 29th March 2004!  This single has been rerecorded with 'Someone Like Me' featuring all the Kittens on vocals and 'Right Now' which has been totally remixed!  The video will be released on music TV channels soon and the artwork and tracklists will follow shortly!  also there are some sources claiming that Atomic Kitten's Greatest Hits album will be released on 4th April 2004.  This is totally unconfirmed as yet, but as soon as we have more information, we'll tell you here at Atomic Kitten Active, so come back soon!

kerry visits back to reality!

It seemed all of a sudden, but yesterday (16th February 2004), Kerry visited the Back To Reality Mansion!  Back To Reality is a reality TV show on five (UK) which brings together 12 reality TV contestants in a mansion and are there to stay as long as possible to win £75,000 for their selected charity!  Kerry popped in the have a curry with the contestants.  She said that everyone seemed nice but reckoned Jade Goody (from reality TV show, Big Brother) should win because she is real and is being herself!  Also, Kerry gave them a task in which three of the contestants have to eat some bugs to win a hot tub!  Three contestants volunteered to do it including Uri Geller, Rik Waller and Lizzy Bardsley and did it well though other emembers oculd not bear to watch (and a few got sick including Jade!).  But it seemed Kerry was so at home the moment she entered the mansion as if she knew the people!!!  Nice one!

Former Atomic Kitten member, Kerry McFadden and husband, Westlife member, Bryan returned to the UK yesterday morning from Australia.  Kerry who became Queen Of The Jungle last Monday (9th February) was ecstatic as media and huge number of fans gathered to see her at Heathrow Airport. Kerry said when she arrived: "It's fantastic to be back, I can't wait to see my children, it's fantastic, really, really good."  Bryan is rumoured to consider being a contestant in next year's 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!'.  Kerry commented about this saying: "Oh that would be fun, wouldn't it."  and as she passed through to arrivals, Kerry said to the fans: "Hi everyone. Thank you so much for voting for me. I really appreciate it."  Other celebrities who arrived included Jennie Bond, Alex Best, Lord Brocket and Mike Read.

According to the tabloid, The Sun, after the Greatest Hits Tour 2004 in February and March, Lil and Jen are going to record solo albums while Atomic Kitten take a break.  They have both signed a one album contract.  The aim is to for Lil and Jen to become the UK's leading female singers.  Lil is to record material tom model Australian singer, Delta Goodrem and will remain on the record label, Innocent while Jen would record more mature material with an edgier sound and would move to the record label, Parlophone.  A source talking to The Sun said: "EMI are confident there is enough of a fan base for them both to do well.  But the girls couldn't both stay on Innocent because there would be a conflict of interests.  Jenny wants to do more grown up stuff and her sexy image will help.  Dom will help get her credibility in clubs.  Liz is taking less of a risk.  She's known as the straight-laced one from Atomic Kitten so that's the road that she will go down as a solo artist."  Tash will be taking time off from Atomic Kitten to look after her child, Josh.  But the tour is first and a spokesman said to The Sun: "Obviously Jenny and Liz are delighted and we expect big things from them.  The Atomic Kitten Tour is the priority at the moment - and after that the girls will be pursuing their solo projects."  Atomic Kitten are due to reform in 2005 - let's hope things work out right!

Atomic Kitten have just announced that their next single will be a double a-side single!  The single 'Someone Like Me'/'Right Now' will be released sometime soon probably in March.  'Someone Like Me' is a beautiful tune co-written by Lil.  This is the third song to be taken off from the latest album, 'Ladies Night'.   The single version will feature all the Kittens vocals.  'Right Now' may have been a smash hit back in 1999, but this single version is a re-recorded and remixed new version of the tune and is still one of the favourites among fans!  The single version of 'Someone Like Me' will appear on Atomic Kitten's Greatest Hits album which is due for release in April!  The video for 'Someone Like Me' is currently being shot.  As soon as we get further details of this exciting release, we'll tell you here first at Atomic Kitten Active, so don't go away!

Atomic Kitten have recently recorded a tune for the forthcoming new Disney movie, 'Mulan 2'!  The tune 'Like Other Girls' is to feature in this film and is likely to appear on the soundtrack to the film.  The movie is about Shang and Mulan preparing for a wedding but are sent to a secret mission!  It is unclear whether this song will appear anywhere else, but as soon as more info comes in, we'll tell you here first at Atomic Kitten Active!

We would like to congratulate Kerry who has become the first ever Queen Of The Jungle in 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!'.  We supported her throughout and really thought she could do it and she did!  She managed to win over the other celebrities Jennie Bond who came up as runner up and Peter Andre who came third.  She couldn't believe that she won and even her husband, Bryan of Westlife took the trouble to be present at this special occasion!   Yesterday, Kerry had to face what was one of the three Bushtucker Bonanzas called 'Throw Up' which involved transferring stars from one cog to another while sharing a tank full of cockroaches!  Kerry however did not do the task and left without a starter, but Peter Andre did 'Fed Up' which was just like Kerry's except with the addition of spiders which was Peter's real fear!  He successfully did the task but was petrified and shaken over the whole experience that earned the camp, dessert.  Finally, for the main course, Jennie Bond did 'Full Up' which was to eat bugs!  But she was a very brave woman and just ate it like nothing - truly unbelievable!  but it was Kerry who won and over 13 million people watch the final in which three million votes were cast on the night and thanks to you the public, you managed to raise over £1 million for charity!!!  But hats off goes to Kerry who at the beginning was a little scared girl who turned as a confident and truly funny and amazing girl!  She entertained us and most importantly was being herself throughout!  Well done once again!

Kerry is in the grand final of 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!'.  We have supported her all the way from Day 1 and after two weeks of living in the jungle we are very sure that she has a good chance to being crowned Queen Of The Jungle.  After Lord Brocket's shock exit this morning, Kerry is up against Peter Andre and Jennie Bond for what will be a real showdown!  But we all ask you Kerry fans to keep voting for her tonight!!!  Make her the first ever Queen Of The Jungle as we all think she deserves it!  Go girl!  We wish Kerry the very best of luck!!!

Yesterday, it was Kerry and Peter Andre's turn to find the Celebrity Chest by following clues and paths.  But it was more like exercise really and along the way Peter was a bit clumsy tripping and hurting himself but assuring Kerry that he was alright!  The clues led them back to camp and only did they realise that the Celebrity Chest was hidden in the camp in the first place!!!  But after having a quick look around, Peter spotted the chest dug deep!  The camp all had a look and were given the choice between Neil 'Razor' Ruddock or John Lydon.  They went for John's gift and to their surprise were given pink champagne and maybe of some good use, shampoo!

Yesterday on Day 14, Kerry and the rest of the celebrities had to do the next Bushtucker Trial.  'Hell Hill' involves the celebrities getting stars from a steep and muddy slope while keeping their balance on the slope itself.  But to add that extra difficulty, they had to keep their balance while water was sprayed at them - but one slip and they will lose their meal!!!  Everyone managed to grab their stars, and it all seemed to be going really well, but as water got sprayed Kerry and Jennie Bond held on really well but unfortunately, the guys, Lord Brocket and Peter Andre took a tumble and lost two meals!!!  The result - they got two meals thanks to Kerry and Jennie but Kerry had a load of fun in this trial and probably the best one she's ever done!!!

Kerry was really going insane yesterday on Day 13!  She constantly looked at the cameras around her in the camp and pulled faces, sang songs and attempted to plead to get her out!  She even wanted a hug from every member of the jungle whoever was left of it anyway!  She was going all funny and at times wondered why she was doing it?  We don't know, but she has sure provided some entertainment in the jungle in a while!  That being after Alex Best was evicted yesterday that she got really mad!  But she's still holding on - with three days left on that day, we are sure she'll survive right until the end as the bookies have still put her as favourite to win the show - go, go girl!

Into Day 12, and it all seemed so quiet as Neil 'Razor' Ruddock and John Lydon left in the last two days and on top of that Alex Best recently departed.  But Kerry is still holding on and is probably one that is being real ion the camp.  Jennie Bond is still on Lord Brockett's nerves and Peter Andre seems to have distanced from Jordan for close reasons...but Kerry appears in the middle seeing both sides of the story!  And see doesn't mind being the next evicted as see never thought she'd actually even get this far!  But the bookies have now put Kerry as favourite to be Queen Of The Jungle !  The reason being that John Lydon has put his total backing behind her!  Let's hope that she stays on as there is only 3 days left 'til the end!!!

On Day 11, Kerry was feeling down during the day because of Neil 'Razor' Ruddock's departure as he was voted out on Day 10.  Kerry decided to talk it over to the Bush Telegraph over her feelings.  She began: "I'm really, really down today.  I think I'm ready to go home now.  I don't think it's because Neil's gone, I'm really down.  I really want to cry.  I just want someone new to talk to.  I really love everyone down there but I want to see a family face."  However, she was really two minded about it and then said: "I want tyo stay.  I don't know if I can.  So hard...I've never finished anything...ever and I want to do one thing...so hard.  I can honestly say this from the bottom of my heart, I'm doing this for the fame.  I'm proving to myself I can do it and I know that if I back out I've failed myself and I honestly mean that I really do."  She felt optimistic: "Come on, I can do this...must be mad."  She then left and seemed to appear very cheerful, John Lydon gave Kerry a hug and some comfort.  He later told Kerry as he left not to quit just because he was.

And as many of you have already know, it was another shock as John Lydon left the camp yesterday and really had enough!  When interviewed, he backed Kerry to win because it was for the sake of her kids.  The bookies have put Kerry now as second favourite to win behind Lord Brocket...bring it on!!!

On Day 10, it was Peter and Kerry's turn to get the Celebrity Chest!  At first, Kerry didn't appear to be too keen on the task, but after some insisting from Peter, they both went.  After some walking, they saw the chest attached to this spider web made of rope in which both had to climb to unlock the chest!  And they did this well and Kerry was simply at her best and carried the task with Peter successfully!  Kerry was very pleased with herself! 

After doing the task, Kerry said: "Something I've done on my own.  Not Bryan there, not me mum, not the Kittens there.  But this is something I've done on my own.  All the people who think I couldn't do anything meself or make anything ...look what I've done.  I'm still here, hard as nails!".

As Peter and Kerry returned to the camp, Peter was impressed and said to the team: "She rocked mate.  She was unbelievable!  She was Lara Croft!".  The team decided to chose Ronan Keating's gift versus Bernard Manning.  Kerry said: "Ronan's my friend" and everyone agreed.  They got a sweet reward as Ronan gave them cream, coffee, sugar and whiskey - the ingredients to an Irish coffee.

Kerry was pretty quiet yesterday on Day 9, but in the camp though, the team had no food for dinner!  That was because Diane Modahl and Peter Andre who carried out the Bushtucker trial called 'Row For Your Life' in which you need to catch the stars from containers filled with allsorts, failed to get any stars!  That didn't help and certainly the camp were unhappy.  Kerry joined Peter who did his best to fish for food but some did not even try the crayfish that he caught!

Yesterday on Day 8, Kerry and John Lydon took on the next search for the elusive Celebrity Chest.  It was a fun task involving both Kerry and John trying to hit targets using Aborigine-style instruments.  By hitting the targets, the chest would be lowered towards ground level.

Instruments included catapults and throwing tree branches, and success came round when Kerry and John hit all three targets.

The reward was a generous serving of champagne when they chose entertainer, Peter Stringfellow's gift as opposed to entertainer, Dale Winton's in the Celebrity Chest.

celebrating lily-sue's first birthday

Poor Kerry became emotional when she had to come to terms with missing her youngest daughter's first birthday.  Lily-Sue became 1 year old yesterday and Kerry was sad that she wasn't home to be with her.  Lord Brocket tried to comfort Kerry telling her that kids don't remember what happened when really really young and that Lily-Sue wouldn't remember that her mum wasn't home for her first birthday.

As a means of comfort for Kerry, John Lydon volunteered to have a birthday candle perched on top of his head which was lit.  The camp sang 'Happy Birthday' to Lily-Sue while John acted as the birthday cake.

In the evening yesterday, all the jungle celebrities had an opportunity to have some contact with the outside world when they received and read letters from their loved ones.  Kerry's husband, Westlife singer, Bryan McFadden wrote a moving letter that made Kerry weep.  Taking the honour to read the letter to Kerry was Neil 'Razor' Ruddock.  The letter read:  "Hi babe.  I just want to let you know we're all very proud of you at how well you're doing.  Me and the kids are missing you so much.  We've had great fun watching you on telly.  I can't wait to see you in the flesh and give you a big hug because the bed looks so huge without you.  We love you more than anything in the world.  Tell everybody they're doing brilliantly, and to look after my little girl.  Love Bryan."

In the Bush Telegraph, Kerry spoke of how much she was now missing Bryan and her two children: Molly and Lily-Sue:  "I miss him like hell now.  I really miss.  I've never gone a day without talking to him.  I'm more determined to stay in now if that makes sense."

We're very sure Kerry can go all the way and with the evictions now taking place from tonight, our support for Kerry to be Queen of the Jungle is even greater!!!  Please, please vote to keep Kerry in and make her the winning celebrity!!!

bug eating!!!

Kerry and Jordan got stuck into their Bushtucker Trial, 'Bite For Bite' yesterday on Day 7 when the public voted them to take on the first duel trial of its kind.  Each of them had to take in a serving of different insects - all crawling and alive - into their mouths!  And as expected, it wasn't at all appetising, for them to eat and for us to watch!

As Kerry and Jordan approached the Trial site, they had sure caught sight of the table laid with covered serving dishes and this made them turn back in shock.  But, the Trial they had to do to earn the food winning stars.  With Jordan sat on one side of the table and Kerry on the other, hosts Ant and Dec presented them each with five cards turned up.  They had to each choose a card and whatever insect was shown on the card they simply had to eat it!!!

Resident animals expert, Dr. Bob was on hand to give Kerry and Jordan some awful advice that included the fact that the insects don't die immediately when eaten!

So, Kerry and Jordan got stuck in with Jordan first having a bite of bush cockroaches.  Kerry then had to gobble a handful of grass ants.  Then came more awful creepy crawlies including meal worms that looked like maggots and grubs which are quite big worms.  Kerry completely freaked out on the sight of the grubs with Jordan spurring Kerry on.  Kerry built up all her determination to eat one and took hold of one and tried to bite it apart, but clearly it was a most horrible thing to put in the mouth, let alone eat it and Kerry spat it out followed by an immediate swallow of relieving water.

Jordan also had her turn to eat grubs and like Kerry she had to build up all her courage to take in these creepy crawlies.  As Jordan bit into one, she had to literally stretch it to try to eat it.  It eventually went down with Jordan restless with the whole situation.

The last helping of bizarre food was fish eyes.  Jordan dismissed them as easy to eat even before the lids had been removed from the serving dishes to reveal them.  Kerry was a little more apprehensive.  However, when they were exposed, both freaked out at the sight of them - they were far bigger than anyone had imagined.  Kerry shouted: "That's not fish eyes, that's Jaws'" referring to the famous film man-eating shark.

With Ant and Dec urging them to get it down, both Kerry and Jordan couldn't handle swallowing the eyes and spat them out.  And with that, both Kerry and Jordan had won 7 stars!!!

You'll agree, it's a a big congratulations to both Kerry and Jordan for having handled that nasty trial and having won an excellent 7 stars!!!

what's ahead for atomic kitten?

As many of you know, Atomic Kitten are going to take a long break while Tash has more time to spend with her child, Josh.  But here's what will be happening in the next few weeks.  Firstly, Atomic Kitten will be releasing their next single, 'Somebody Like Me' sometime in March.  This is a simple, beautiful song was co-written by Lil and is their third single taken from their latest album, 'Ladies Night'.  Following this will be a Greatest Hits compilation due out in April which will contain 14 hits plus some surprises!  And don't forget that the UK and Ireland 'Be With Us' Tour is coming your way this month and March!  So get ready for one of the best gigs to date!  It has been said that Atomic Kitten will be taking a break for a while and are due to be back in 2005!  We'll keep you well up to date on these developments at Atomic Kitten Active!

Today on Day 7, the Bushtucker Trial took a unique twist with the first head-to-head celebrity duel in which two celebrities would be voted by the public to go against each other to win food earning stars.  The pair of celebrities to be offered the challenge was Kerry and Jordan.  At first, hosts Ant and Dec concluded that for either, it might be them doing the Bushtucker Trial, but to the surprise of them and the whole camp, they learnt it would be both doing the challenge!

The Bushtucker Trial is called 'Bite For Bite' and as its name suggests, both Kerry and Jordan have to eat...yes, you've guessed it...creepy crawlies...bugs...insects...and anything awful you can probably think of!!!  Previous 'I'm A Celebrity' celebrities who have had to stomach these nasty creppy crawlies have included Uri Geller in Series 1 and Phil Tufnell in Series 2.  In this twist of a trial, both Kerry and Jordan will be going it head to head to eat as many bugs as possible...and it's sure going to be tough!!!

After the announcement, both Kerry and Jordan looked stunned and had already calculated what the trial was probably all about from the name, 'Bite For Bite'.  Kerry was already warning here fellow camp members that they couldn't expect many stars and much food from her as the whole thought of eating bugs was now causing stress for Kerry.  Kerry told Jordan that it was going to have to be a team effort rather than a duel.  Neil 'Razor' Ruddock and Mike Read gave their bits of advice to try to build up the girls' confidence.

Kerry then took on a positive attitude and felt she had to do it whatever, with the thought that her husband, Westlife singer Bryan McFadden and her family and friends would probably be spurring her on to do the Bushtucker Trial!

After a day as leader of the camp, Kerry decided to handover her duties to Neil 'Razor' Ruddock.  All this week, each celebrity has had an opportunity to take up the role of camp leader and results have been variable.  On handing over the job formally in the Bush Telegraph, Kerry suddenly realised she was going to be hunting for the Celebrity Chest today plus be doing the Bushtucker Trial (see next news story).  Poor Kerry was now facing more jungle stress.
