     Celebrating a Golden Jubilee

As part of the forthcoming celebrations for the Queen's Golden Jubilee, Atomic Kitten will be joining a huge host of big name music artists to perform at a special concert for the special occasion called 'The Party In The Palace'.  Other artists include: S Club 7, Sir Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton and emerging successful pop star, Will Young (pictured) who only recently won the title of 'Pop Idol' on the huge TV show.  More big names are expected to join this range of stars including Bryan Adams and Dido but this has not been officially confirmed yet.  The event will be hosted by top comedians: Lenny Henry and Ben Elton and take place in the gardens of Buckingham Palace on the 3rd June 2002.  In all 24,000 free tickets are being made available and can be obtained by calling in the UK: 0900 1952 002 or by visiting the website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/queensconcerts.  Prince William and Prince Harry will be attending the concert.  A Palace spokesperson described of the special concert: "This is the Queen's way of saying thank you to all the people who have supported her over the years."

     Kiara joins the Kittens

Music star, Kiara Hunter will be the supporting act at all the gigs on the forthcoming, massive all-new Atomic Kitten tour.  Click here to check out Kiara's official site and find out more.  The tour which starts today (22nd February) in Preston, UK, will extend throughout March and into April taking on venues across the UK and also in Austria, Switzerland and Ireland.  The dates for gigs in Germany are cancelled.  This comes in light of the wishes of the management to ensure that the Kittens are not subject to exhaustion as they were following last year's schedule.  The dates for Germany are set to be rescheduled.  Click here to check out the Tour & Appearances page for all the dates on the Kitten tour.  Tickets are still available for certain dates so book fast to get your seats!!!  If you're going to any Kitten gig, enjoy yourself and have a brilliant Kitten time!!!

     The tour's round the corner...

Tomorrow sees the start of the all-new Atomic Kitten tour!!!  The Kittens will be playing live gigs across the UK, and also in Ireland, Austria and Switzerland.  If you've got tickets - have a brilliant, fun time!!!  Certain gigs still have seats available so book fast to avoid missing out!!!  Note that all the gigs in Germany have been cancelled and that the gig for Glasgow, Scotland has been rescheduled to the 5th April 2002.  Check out the Tour & Appearances page for the full set of dates.

     It's the Brits!!!

Tonight it's the Brit Awards 2002, the massive music awards ceremony which will see the biggest music acts nominated and to receive awards.  Atomic Kitten have been nominated in two award categories: Best British Newcomer where they will come against music artists such as: Gorillaz, Blue, Elbow, So Solid Crew and Turin Brakes (full list of nominations in this category given below), and Best British Single for their brilliant 'Whole Again' where they will come against singles such as: 'Gotta Get Thru This' from Daniel Bedingfield, 'Pure And Simple' from Hear'say, 'Eternity/The Road To Mandalay' from Robbie Williams and 'Don't Stop Movin'' from S Club 7 (full list of nominations in this category given below).  Nominations were originally announced back in January and fans got voting for their favourite artists in selected categories that included: the Best British Single, Best British Newcomer, Best British Video and Best Pop Act categories.  The Brit Awards which is being sponsored by Mastercard takes place at Earl's Court, London, UK and will be hosted by entertainers, Frank Skinner (pictured left) and Zöe Ball (pictured right).  Artists to perform at the awards include: Dido, Anastacia and Kylie Minogue, but to name a few.  The Brit Awards will also aim to raise money for charities that include: the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology and Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy.  The event will be televised on ITV1 (in the UK) tomorrow (21st February) night at 8pm (GMT).  Click here to visit the official Brit Awards website for more information and for the nominations.  We wish Atomic Kitten all the very, very, very best of luck at the Brit Awards!!!  The full list of nominations in all categories are listed below.  Enjoy the Brits!!!

     Major tour update!!!

It has been officially confirmed of a number of changes to the dates for the new Atomic Kitten tour which starts this Friday (22nd February 2002).  The changes include the following:  All dates for the gigs in Germany have been cancelled (may hopefully be rescheduled in future) and the gig taking place in Glasgow, Scotland has now been rescheduled to take place on the 5th April 2002.  The full set of dates for all gigs including the changes are on the Tour & Appearances page.  You can also visit the Official Atomic Kitten website for more details.

     Getting active!!!

Next week sees Atomic Kitten getting involved with events you'll want to know about (if you don't know already!)  On Wednesday (20th February) are the Brit Awards 2002.  This massive music awards ceremony will be coming from Earl's Court, London, UK, and sees the Kittens being nominated in the Best British Newcomer and Best British Single categories.  You can catch the Brit Awards on TV when it will be televised the following night on ITV1 (in the UK at 8:00pm GMT).  We wish Atomic Kitten the best of luck!!!  Next, from the 22nd February, the exciting new Atomic Kitten tour kicks off and sees them play a whole host of gigs up and down the UK, in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.  Check out the Tour & Appearances page for the dates.  If you've booked your seats at any of the Atomic Kitten gigs - have a fun and brilliant time!!!  It's all active for the Kittens and keep it tuned here to Atomic Kitten Active!!!

As part of Atomic Kitten's association with the cosmetics company, Avon, in helping to promote Avon's Color Trend range, the Color Trend website includes a special virtual makeover feature where visitors can try the different Color Range products on the Kittens virtually!!!  There's also information on the Color Trend product range.  You can visit the Color Trend website by clicking here.  Atomic Kitten will also be wearing the cosmetics on their massive new tour which starts on the 22nd February 2002!!!  You can find the tour dates on our Tour & Appearances page.

     Brit Awards are coming...

Now that the Brit Awards voting has closed, attention is now focussed on the massive awards ceremony that is the Brit Awards to take place on the 20th February 2002.  Coming live from Earl's Court, London, UK, the Brit Awards will be presented by Frank Skinner and Zoe Ball and see a host of music stars nominated and be awarded on the night.  Atomic Kitten have been nominated in two categories: Best British Newcomer, in which they're up against the likes of Gorillaz, Blue, Elbow, So Solid Crew and Turin Brakes (the full list of artists nominated in this category are listed below), and Best British Single for the massive 'Whole Again', in which they're up against offerings from for instance, 'Gotta Get Thru This' from Daniel Bedingfield (pictured left), 'Pure And Simple' from Hear'say (pictured right), 'Eternity/The Road To Mandalay' from Robbie Williams and 'Don't Stop Movin'' from S Club 7 (the full list of singles nominated in this category are listed below).  Fans were asked to vote with voting having closed on Sunday (10th February).  The Brit Awards will also be televised the following night after the event.  The full list of nominations in all categories is given below.  We wish Atomic Kitten the very, very, very best of luck!!!

     Kittens lead cancer charity

Cancer Research UK, a new charity formed from the merger of the charities: Imperial Cancer Research Fund and the Cancer Research Campaign, will see Atomic Kitten as ambassadors for the new charity.  Over 3,000 doctors and scientists will work in the new charity to continue the ongoing research into cancer treatments.  Lil described of the association: "It's really exciting to be part of such an important launch and to be in a position to make a difference."

     Cosmetics deal confirmed

A deal involving Atomic Kitten in a new campaign being launched by the cosmetics company, Avon, has been confirmed by the band.  The campaign will see the Kittens making appearances to help in Avon's Color Trend range promotion.  Amongst the appearances lined up for the Kittens include on Color Trend product packaging, on Avon's website and in Avon catalogues.  The deal will last one year and involves a six-figure sum.  Also, on the massive tour that Atomic Kitten are set to begin this late February (from the 22nd - see the Tour & Appearances page for more details) the Kittens will be wearing the Avon cosmetics.  The Kittens described of the deal: "We are really excited to be associated with a prestigious make-up brand."
