DAY 6 |
kerry in the jungle coverage
kerry tells
jordan of peter's crush
31/1/2004, 5:35am GMT
31/1/2004, 3:35pm AET
One of the most
interesting of events taking place in the jungle on
'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!' is the more
than apparent intimacy between 90's singer, Peter
Andre and model, Jordan, and in the middle of the
communications between the two is Kerry! And by
now, Day 6, one wonders what's going to happen
in the coming week!
Yesterday,
Peter decided to talk about his interests in Jordan to
Kerry. He described how he was more interested
in the side of her away from all the public glamour
and exposure and said "She's nice."
Kerry decided to tell Jordan of what Peter had told
her and find out from Jordan whether she felt the same
for Peter as he did for her. Kerry began: "He
told me not to say anything but he really likes you
Kate [Jordan aka Katie Price]. What do you
think? Do you think it's false?" Jordan
unsure replied: "Em, yeah...dunno...what do you
think?" Jordan then went on tell Kerry of
Peter's sleep-over with Jordan on Day 4, in which late
at night, Peter lay in bed with Jordan...but simply
just lay in bed. Jordan continued: "Like, he
come over last night and I was like 'What?' I
was fast asleep." Kerry interested asked: "And
got in your bed?"
Jordan
said: "I sort of sat up and was like 'What?' I'm
like 'Oh...' I said 'Just go top to tail'.
He said 'Come up this end' and I sort of when up
there, and he was behind me and I thought 'Oop no,
hang on!,' and he said 'Shall I go?' I said
'Yeah. I'm getting into bed.' I said
'There's cameras. It's not right. Then he
went to bed. It's like he come over for that and
then went. I dunno. Maybe I'm getting para.
Do you know what I mean?" Kerry tried to alter
Jordan's not-so-good view of Peter: "But he does like
you." Jordan agreed somewhat: "He's only human
at the end of the day. He is good looking
though. Well he is."
Well, Peter seems to be trying to get up close with
Jordan...but Jordan seems to be holding back...and
Kerry seems to be trying to bring them closer
together! We'll keep you posted on developments!
Post your messages on what you think of Kerry's
survival in the jungle almost a week into the series!

DAY 6 |
kerry in the jungle coverage
jungle antics in
a true nutshell
31/1/2004, 4:10am GMT
31/1/2004, 2:10pm AET
Here we attempt to run through some of the biggest
highlights from jungle life so far on 'I'm A
Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here' recently!
:: Bushtucker Trials have seen insects poured into
helmets worn by Neil 'Razor' Ruddock and Jordan in the
first trial, 'Fill the Face' on Day 1, and ostriches
pecking and chasing John Lydon as he unburied stars in
their pen on Day 2 as he tried to 'Beat The Birds'.
On Day 3, Kerry bravely took up a real underwater
challenge as she tried to rescue stars from a sinking
box with her in it in 'Jungle Houdini', Day 4 saw
Peter Andre put his head in insect and spider and
snake filled boxes to rescue stars by his teeth in
'Head Into Horror' and yesterday on Day 5, Jennie Bond
lay underground in a water filled, rat infested
compartment for ten minutes!
:: Peter Andre and Jordan seem to be getting quite
intimate as the pair have flirted and been caught
lying in bed together one night.
:: John Lydon has been getting the whole camp
organised with what now appears to be dedication to
keeping camp fires going, water running and any other
housekeeping that needs attending to. Such is
his commitment to camp organisation, he's now getting
fed up of other camp members like Jordan who he sees
as lazy and doing nothing.
:: Jennie Bond has been caught with contraband goods
on camp and decided to stick a piece of chewing gum
she'd been chewing for days on the Bush Telegraph
camera lens, as a sign of protest. The good in
question was mascara.
:: Camp celebrities have been taking turns to become
camp leader. Jennie took up a very motherly role
on Day 1. John Lydon enjoyed and messed around
with his leadership role on Day 3 and on Day 4, Lord
Brocket left everyone to do anything they liked - as
far as he was concerned - the camp could run itself.
:: Hunger has certainly not gone amiss - the strain of
food rations was at its worse earlier in the week with
a food protest on Day 3 when the camp decided they
would not accept the poor food.
And there's loads more happening! We'll keep you
posted on events with Kerry so keep it here!!!

atomic kitten to
take a long break
30/1/2004, 7:00pm GMT
It has been speculated and rumoured that Atomic Kitten may have
decided to call it a day after Tash decided to 'quit'
the band due to numerous problems she has been having
over the care of her baby son, Josh in recent months.
However, the official word is that Tash has decided to
take a long break from the band and while doing so all
the Kittens will be looking at pursuing solo projects
that may also include TV and media work.
Yesterday, Tash
was reported as having left the band because she felt that
commitments with Atomic Kitten were becoming straining
on her own time with her child. She said: "I
knew the time would come when I would have to do this.
I've not really had a moment to be with Josh
consistently and properly since he was born, having
released two albums and six singles since 2002 and
promoted them around the world."
Although the band will be for the time being,
separated, the
forthcoming tour scheduled for February-March 2004 in
the UK and Ireland is still going ahead and it's been
speculated, although not confirmed that the Kittens are planning to release a
final single, 'Someone Like Me'. For certain, they
will release a Greatest Hits album sometime at the
end of March 2004.
Lil said last night: "We are dedicating every show
to all the amazing fans who have made us so happy and
supported us through the years. They are the
people we never want to let down because they have
spurred us on every step of the way. Every
letter, every poster held aloft at our gigs, every
message of support throughout all our lows and highs
meant so much. We want to make them proud of
us."
So, although we will be expecting not to see Atomic
Kitten as a band for a while, the official word is
"This is not the end", contrary to what a lot of news
reports have suggested.
You can read the official statement on this
situation at the
Official Atomic Kitten website.

kerry gets
bitten
30/1/2004, 7:50am GMT
30/1/2004, 5:50pm AET
Jungle life has not been running too smoothly for
Kerry and the latest hitch in her adventure in the
wild saw her become victim to mosquito bites.
Kerry has been covered by the irritating injuries by
one of nature's most problematic insects and had the
helping of Jennie Bond to rub cream on her sore bites.
But, a tattoo that had been bitten into by
mosquitoes on Kerry's body resulted in an allergic
reaction which saw Kerry needing to be seen by a
doctor.

DAY 5 |

it's a party!
30/1/2004, 6:25am GMT
30/1/2004, 4:25pm AET
Yesterday
on Day 4 of 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of
Here!', the celebrities got partying to celebrate one
of the camp celebrities' birthdays. Alex Best
became 32 years of age in the camp and what better way
to celebrate but have a party on location! All
the celebrities first enjoyed making and eating a
chocolate birthday cake which they prepared themselves
using ingredients and a recipe provided by show
makers.
Then, later into the evening and Peter Andre's ten
star winning meal due to his successful Bushtucker
Trial, 'Head In Horror' awarded the camp with a most
fitting large meal that included chicken - only one
snag - they had to pluck the chicken themselves!
John Lydon joined Jordan and Lord Brocket to do the
honour and Lydon felt it to be an experience to
remember!
And night-time, as all the celebrities got dressed
into jungle style clothing made out of materials by
Jordan. Kerry looked all dressed for the jungle
as she partied with everyone on camp well into the
night! For Alex, it was surely a birthday to
remember!

DAY 4 |

helping peter
along with jordan
29/1/2004, 10:35am GMT
29/1/2004, 8:35pm AET
Kerry
gave a sort of helping hand to fellow celebrity, Peter
Andre while he tried to chat up and flirt with Jordan.
She told him that if he wanted to get it on with
Jordan he had to go for it and make it clear.
Kerry also suggested that she knew why Peter was after
the glamorous model: "You can see you're
physically attracted to her.
You
definitely want a piece of cake, you do. Come
on, be a man and admit it. Who wouldn't? Kate's
a woman. All women play. You're only
human. F**king hell, I'm female and I want a
piece of her." Peter Andre admitted he preferred
the Jordan away from the cameras and glamour and knew
how Jordan was since he was living with her 24-7 on
the show.

kerry in the jungle coverage
it's a
director's cut
29/1/2004, 10:30am GMT
29/1/2004, 8:30pm AET
Kerry got chatting together with fellow
celebrities, Jordan and Peter Andre in the jungle last
night local time when they got into allsorts.
Peter had started chatting up and flirting with
Jordan, something which isn't amiss nowadays in the
jungle...and while the two got imitating voices Peter
had an idea to try acting out a sort of movie with the
model. Their choice of film was 'Grease' and
endlessly both Jordan and Peter had tried to remember
lines from a scene from the very film and act it out.
But mistake after mistake was made and Kerry was on
hand to try to help the two out. The
conversation continued later about recalling songs
from past musicals while they gathered around the camp
fire.

DAY 4 |
kerry in the jungle coverage
hanging on for
stars
29/1/2004, 8:25am GMT
29/1/2004, 6:25pm AET
On
Day 3 and Kerry had to look forward to a
hideous Bushtucker Trial, called 'Jungle Houdini'.
She'd been voted by the public to take up the next
challenge to rescue as many stars as she could to win
meals for all of the jungles celebrities including
herself.
The
trial involved stepping into a glass box initially
suspended in air above a pool of water. Inside
the box are stars trapped by a lock which must be
unfastened using one of a set of keys - each key
corresponding to one lock per star. But, the
catch behind the Bushtucker Trial is this - the box is
slowly sinking into the pool and submerging its
contents including Kerry in water. With three
minutes before the box is totally immersed in the
water, Kerry has to be as fast as possible to get the
stars off the locks.
A
very distressed Kerry received her instructions from
the Bush Telegraph and came out feeling completely
gutted. Inside the Telegraph she had tried all
sorts of ways to 'bribe' show producers with offers
like Westlife tickets but she wasn't so successful.
The other camp members gave all their encouragement to
Kerry as she eventually departed camp for the Trial.
Lord Brocket assured Kerry: "Remember, nothing's going
to hurt you." Kerry said quite pessimistically
in the Bush Telegraph: "I'm just going to do it.
I'm not even going to succeed. Probably not
going to even get one meal." Before going she
told her fellow celebrities: "I'll do my very best.
I promise you I really will."
Kerry
felt she had to earn well from the trial: "If I don't
get those stars, I'm not going back. I'm going
home. I've been saying this - don't I? I
will do my best. I'll try my best for
everybody." Other stars were more optimistic and
said she'd do really well and that Kerry would do
better than she thought. As Kerry walked the
rope bridge towards her trial she compared it to after
a night's out drinking: "It's like a Friday night's
p**s. That's what it is." Neil 'Razor'
Ruddock shouted back at Kerry "Good luck girl!" while
Jennie Bond shouted "Kerry, good luck!"
At
the Trial and Dec, one of the hosts assured Kerry
"Don't look so worried!" Questioned how she
felt, Kerry replied "Really scared," and how she felt
the first couple of days had gone she said: "Awful."
Dec asked why Kerry had decided to take on the jungle
amidst the difficulties and Kerry "I thought it'd just
be a laugh!" Ant asked whether Kerry had watched the
show before in case she had been oblivious to the
Bushtucker Trials and other jungle nasties.
Kerry replied: "Yes! They all looked dead drunk.
[It looked like a] 2 weeks holiday! Really!
Sunbathing away!"
After
instructions from hosts, Ant and Dec, Kerry stepped to
her challenge, ready to give it a go. It was
tough as Kerry struggled to find the right keys for
the various locks attached to the stars. The box
sunk ever further as Kerry grabbed as many stars as
she could. Eventually the final thirty seconds
arrived in no time and on one more deep breath, Kerry
dived into the now totally submerged box to try one
more time to get one more star. By the end of
the trial, a very disappointed Kerry presented Ant and
Dec the two stars she had managed to rescue from the
ten available, meaning two meals for the whole camp
that night. Asked how she did by Ant and Dec,
Kerry replied "I did really c**p. I got two
[stars]," and feeling guilty about her performance
said: "I'm giving up smoking." Dec asked how it
was and Kerry replied: "It's really hard. There
are so many different keys."
On
recalling the trial, Kerry said: "I was petrified.
I could feel my heart beating faster and faster.
I said 'I'll just do it...do it...just do it'...I know
they're [other jungle celebrities] will not be happy.
I think they'll be expecting me to do really bad.
The camp were expecting me to do very bad...and I
have." But Kerry was still met back by cheering
from other camp members when she broke the news of the
trial on arrival.
We
think Kerry is a hero simply having done the
trial...it was tough but she managed it and we say
well done Kerry!!! Leave your messages on what
you think of how Kerry's done in the Bushtucker Trial
and in the jungle so far on our
Guest Book!

DAY 4 |
kerry in the jungle coverage
kerry joins in
food protest
29/1/2004, 7:10am GMT
29/1/2004, 5:10pm AET
Following
Kerry's tough Bushtucker Trial in which she scored two
stars, the camp had to expect two meals amongst them
but such was the poor nature of the meals yesterday
evening, Kerry and other camp celebrities protested by
refusing to eat dinner at all, despite feeling the
extremes of hunger.
When the bag of food arrived, Neil 'Razor' Ruddock
opened it up and started counting the goods one by
one: "Half a potato, beans..." Kerry apologised
to her fellow camp members for having let them down in
the trial: "So sorry guys." The others assured
it was alright. Razor was not happy about the
poor food provisions even for two meals: "This is
stupid." Kerry read out a notice provided with
the food: "In this trial, Kerry faced her fears and
won two stars. These stars are equal to two
meals." Razor said with frustration: "How are
you supposed to get ten meals out of that?"
Kerry gave her own version of what show makers should
have provided in terms of two meals: "A meal for two
would be two full steaks," with other camp members
agreeing, "...four potatoes each, or even two
potatoes. They're not even proper meals."
Razor agreed and said that if Kerry had won every
star, they would have probably not earned their full
ten meals: "If you had got ten [stars], you'd not have
got ten times [meals]," and in protest Razor
suggested: "Send it [the food] back and tell them to
f**k it. We don't want it...I'd rather have
nothing... Tell them we want nothing thank you very
much!" Peter Andre added: "Mike [Read] said it
right. It's not a starvation programme."
In
the Bush Telegraph, Razor came back with the bag of
food accompanied by Kerry and told show makers: "We've
decided we'd rather not have it. Not enough.
And what Kerry went through today, we think it's an
insult. We don't want it. That's all.
Thank you."
Back at camp, Peter Andre continued his protest
over the inadequate food rations: "It's not as if
we're people...we're people who've lived a life of
eating food, then you take it away from us...it's okay
to bring it down...but not to this." John Lydon
added: "Well done Peter. It's absolutely
right. We're people used to eating food.
We've lived life of food."
The hunger and the stress go ever more through the
roof as jungle life takes its toll. We'll keep
you informed of the latest on Kerry's life in the
jungle right here!

DAY 3 |
kerry in the jungle coverage
kerry caught in
next bushtucker trial
28/1/2004, 10:30am GMT
28/1/2004, 8:30pm AET
Kerry
has been voted by the public to take up the third
Bushtucker Trial on 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of
Here!' Kerry who has been recently finding it
hard in the jungle had her face in her hands when
hosts, Ant and Dec announced that she had been chosen
to perform the trial titled 'Jungle Houdini'.
Kerry was rather distraught at having learned of this
and the other camp members rallied support and
assurances for her. The vote for the
celebrity to do the next trial came down to the final
two: Peter Andre and Kerry. When the result had
been announced, Lord Brocket sympathetically shouted
out in an attempt to alert show producers that Kerry
had not been feeling well and that he was prepared to
do the trial instead. However, it wasn't a
request that would be followed, unfortunately for
Kerry.
Mike
Read comforted Kerry reminding her of her
determination to bring back the celebrity chest
yesterday after she had been suffering stress and
exhaustion on the trek to the chest with the DJ.
Diane Modahl tried to build up Kerry's motivation by
telling her to try to build up her fiery side and go
for it.
Kerry's trial called 'Jungle Houdini' involves her
trying to rescue stars in a box
while standing in it. The only problem is, the
box is slowly sinking into water and Kerry must use
careful balance to stabilise herself while doing the
trial. We know Kerry can do it and all our
support, and hopefully yours too are behind her!!!
We wish her all the very best!!!
You can catch all the details on how well Kerry
does in her Bushtucker Trial by watching 'I'm A
Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!' at 8pm (GMT) on ITV1
(UK). We'll also keep you posted!
Kerry will be the fourth celebrity to take on a
Bushtucker Trial this series. Neil 'Razor'
Ruddock and Jordan took up the first, 'Fill The Face'
on Day 1 and John Lydon attempted to 'Beat The Birds'
on Day 2.

DAY 3 |
kerry in the jungle coverage
ross' chest
gifts are terrible
28/1/2004, 6:55am GMT
28/1/2004, 4:55pm AET
On
arrival back at the camp with the Celebrity Chest, an
exhausted Kerry and Mike Read were cheered on by the other
camp members. For all the effort that Kerry and Mike
had put in, you and them would have expected a just and
equal reward, but that didn't happen and it frustrated
Kerry.
The jungle celebrities quickly opened up the chest and
were offered two compartments, of which only one they
could open. One contained 'gifts' from former King
of the Jungle, Phil Tufnell and the other, from
entertainer
Jonathan
Ross. The most rewarding thing the celebrities could
want was food so they quickly discussed which they should
take. The clue to Tufnell's 'gifts' seem to suggest
there was maybe a large content of alcohol compared to
Ross' offerings and so the celebrities believed that there
would be food in Ross' compartment. But to their
dismay they found clothes and Kerry brought out one or two
small bottles of alcoholic beverages and a cigar...but no
food! Most of the celebrities were utterly
disappointed. Kerry said: "B******s. I don't
want any of that. It's c**p. Just keep
everything they give us. And when we get home, we'll
throw these in Jonathan's [Ross] face and say 'What the
f**k is that supposed to do?' Keep us warm in
Australia?"
In protest, the celebrities decided to burn a stick man of
Jonathan Ross in their camp fire with a photo of
Jonathan's face stuck on, the photo supplied with the
chest.

DAY 3 |
kerry in the jungle coverage
jungle trek
becomes hard for kerry
28/1/2004, 6:25am GMT
28/1/2004, 4:25pm AET
Day
2 and as part of the hunt for food rations and
other allsorts on 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of
Here!', each day a pair of celebrities must trek out
to get hold of a chest called the 'Celebrity Chest'.
This chest is usually located in an awkward place in
the jungle away from the camp area, but with
instructions and some little guidance the celebrities
chosen to do the trek must retrieve the chest and
bring it back to camp where they can expect to receive
some teatime food...or at its worse, nothing!
It
was Kerry and DJ, Mike Read who were chosen amongst
the camp to go and hunt for the first celebrity chest.
The two departed and initially it was a walk amongst
the trees over fairly flat terrain. Kerry was
not in perfect form remarking to Mike: "I'm sweating
like mad. My head's banging." The pair
arrived at a fairly steep slope down and this is when
Kerry started to feel unwell. A patient Mike
Read encouraged Kerry who was at first reluctant to
climb down the slope telling her "You can really
really do it...you'll be pleased when you've done it",
but she made it and soon they walked over to a cliff
face adjacent to a small waterfall. A little
note attached nearby guided Kerry and Mike: "One on
the ground and one on the top, prepare yourselves for
a slippery drop." Suspended from the cliff face was
the chest.
Kerry
chose to stay at ground level while holding firm a
climbing rope that Mike had to use to get himself up
to the chest. As Mike struggled to get up to the
chest, Kerry encouraged Mike and gave him messages of
support to inch him on further.
However,
Kerry began feeling weak and unwell and was seen by a
doctor on location and told him: "I just feel so weak
and useless." Kerry began to weep and she felt
guilty for problems he was feeling: "I'm slowing
everybody else down." Back at camp, the other
jungle celebrities had no idea what was up and noticed
the pair hadn't been back for some time. Alex
remarked: "They'll be shattered."
But
the fighting spirit was there in Kerry despite the
difficulties and she told Mike, "I'm not going back to
camp," while they still hadn't got hold of the still
suspending chest. "Oh there's no way we're going
back to the camp without the treasure box" said a
defiant Kerry. Kerry later recalled that they
had to "just get on with it" and on a second attempt
at the chest, she helped Mike shouting "You're doing
really, really well" as he clambered over to the chest
and Kerry held tight on the rope. Once they had
got hold of the chest, Kerry joked to Mike about the
chest's contents: "I tell you something...I hope
there's a Chinese menu and a phone." Mike later
recalled of Kerry's stressful search of the chest: "It
was very, very tough on her. She really felt she
couldn't do it."
Well, she did and we think Kerry's a true star for
having fought to get the chest and had the
determination to do so!!!

DAY 2 |
kerry in the jungle coverage
troubled kerry
27/1/2004, 12:30pm GMT
27/1/2004, 10:30pm AET
The
fight for survival in the jungle has begun and already
into Day 1 and Kerry is starting to feel the strain of
jungle life. Kerry expressed that she would wait
some two days and see how things went, and she
suggested that she may be prepared to walk out.
It all follows the exposure to the vast numbers of
creepy crawlies dashing across the jungle camp and the Bushtucker Trials. Kerry's fear of snakes,
insects and spiders could not be hidden as an animal
wrangler and expert demonstrated examples of resident
creatures to the celebrities prior to their entry into
the jungle.
Further
fear emerged when Neil 'Razor' Ruddock and Jordan came
back from their first Bushtucker Trial, 'Fill the
Face' in which they had to wear helmets filled with
all sorts of nasty creepy crawlies. As Razor and
Jordan described of their experiences, Kerry looked in
horror at the potential nastiness of the trials.
And
poor Kerry couldn't help but weep tears as she faced a
night of fright. On the first evening she
thought she noticed a brown rodent crawling around her
makeshift bed. Razor came to the rescue to carry
Kerry away from the scene while Mike Read, Lord
Brocket and John Lydon came to check out the
commotion. And that wasn't all as later into the
night, Razor alarmed the camp by shouting over the
presence of a snake. Kerry remarked: "I'm not
sleeping alone" and in despair gave her bed a good hit
hoping to clear off any other hidden bugs.
In the Bush Telegraph, Kerry spoke quite shaken
with the whole jungle experience saying: "I'm really
s***e at this c**p." With a sigh she continued:
"I'm not doing very well."
We can only hope that Kerry will find some strength
to get through what is a tough start. Our
support continues for Kerry and we hope you're
supporting her too! Leave your thoughts and
messages on our Guest Book!

jungle
highlights
27/1/2004, 12:30pm GMT
27/1/2004, 10:30pm AET
With
all the jungle celebs settling in, Kerry ex-Kitten has
been finding a little difficult to get used to nature,
but the whole band of jungle mates seem to be getting
on really well, and so far, we don't expect any real
disputes.
On
Day 1, the first Bushtucker Trial was carried out by
Neil 'Razor' Ruddock' and Jordan. Called 'Fill
the Face', the celebs had to wear creature-filled,
creature-infested helmets with snakes, spiders,
insects and all sorts poured in!
And
the celebrities have been trying to fight off fears
and the presence of beetles, cockroaches, rodents,
snakes and the like in the domain of their jungle
camp. Kerry was upset by the creepy-crawlies and
was immensely relieved when her name wasn't called out
for doing the second Bushtucker Trial, 'Beat the
Birds', in which the celebrity has to try to grab as
many stars from around the legs of tall, vicious
ostriches!!! Instead, John Lydon was chosen by
the public to do the nasty trial.

packing up for the jungle

26/1/2004, 2:30pm AET
And so it's Day 1 of the third UK series of
'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!' As you
know, Kerry ex-Kitten is one of the ten celebrities to
take on the arduous jungle challenge and survive a
fortnight's worth of food rations, creepy crawlies and
hostile jungle conditions. Over the past week
we've been covering all the preparation and now it's
time for the action!
In the final stages of gearing up for 'I'm A
Celebrity...', the celebs have been packing the very
few 'items of luxury' they're allowed into the jungle
and nothing else. Each star has a small rucksack
in which they can carry one item of luxury, but show
makers have made it clear that their baggage is
confiscated ahead of the start of the show to ensure
that there is: "...no secret smuggling or concealing
of contraband goods". But who's carrying what?
Here's a quick packing list of the jungle stars
starting off with Kerry...
 |
Kerry
McFadden
:: Photograph of her with husband, Westlife
singer Bryan and their children: Molly and
Lily-Sue. |
 |
Alex Best
:: Tweezers
Reason: For "unwanted hair and splinters." |
 |
Diane Modahl
:: Exercise trainers
Reason: For exercising and training. Diane
said: "My husband Vincente laughed at me for
choosing them but they were the first thing that
sprung to mind." |
 |
Jennie Bond
:: Lipstick
Reason: "It might seem a bit silly, but it's done
with a sense of humour and lipstick makes me feel
better about myself. Recent research shows
make-up makes some women feel better about
themselves and makes them achieve more. The
other women going in the jungle are welcome to
borrow it." |
 |
John Lydon
:: Vaseline
Reason: Not given. |
 |
Jordan
:: Hot water bottle
Unfortunately for Jordan, she left this luxury
item back in the UK! Now she's trying to
hunt for one in Australia - but it may not be so
easy considering there are soaring hot
temperatures there! |
 |
Lord Brocket
:: Axle grease
Reason: To stop creepy crawlies climbing up his
legs. |
 |
Mike Read
:: Paper or pen?
Probably paper. |
 |
Neil 'Razor'
Ruddock
:: A rubber swimming ring
Reason: "I'm taking a rubber ring as my luxury
item as it would be nice to sit on and play games
with, as well as keep me a float when I swim.
We can get Jordan to sit down and see if we can
hoop it on to one of her boobs." |
 |
Peter Andre
:: His lucky black bandanna. |
The stars have now completed their jungle survival
training and been introduced to some of the exotic and
dangerous wildlife they'll encounter while sitting it
out in the jungle. Earlier at dawn this morning
(local time) they were dropped off my helicopter near
to the jungle camp which is situated at the foot of a
volcano and to which they must trek by foot.
Now it all begins!!! If you want to catch the
first glimpses of life inside the jungle with Kerry
and the other stars make sure you tune into ITV1 (UK)
tonight from 9pm (GMT) for the first show of the
series! We'll keep you posted on all the latest
on Kerry in the jungle!!!

1 DAY TO GO |
kerry in the jungle coverage
eve of jungle action
and mayhem
25/1/2004, 11:40am GMT
Tomorrow (26th January 2004), it all happens!!!
The third UK series of 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out
Of Here!' begins screening for the next fortnight with
the first show at 9pm (GMT) on ITV1 (UK). Kerry
ex-Kitten, as you'll know, is one of the ten
celebrities who'll be entering the jungle to survive
everything it has to offer including the nastiest of
creepy crawlies, hostile conditions and each other!
All the celebs were dining in their last round of
luxury before the jungle experience at a five-star
hotel on the Gold Coast in Australia. As well as
getting to know each other they also got to be up
close with some of the creatures they'll sure be
spending some time with including spiders and snakes.
But, now the endurance begins. Today, the
celebrities go out into nature's realm for a session
of jungle survival training (pictured are last year's
celebrities doing just that) before the drop-off
tomorrow in the jungle camp. They'll be escorted
by helicopter to near the camp where they'll be
dropped off and then must trek by foot to the camp
which is situated on the outskirts of a volcano.
And ahead of the start of the series there were a
number of rumours circulating about the state of the
jungle camp. The first was that an attempt was
made to make things easier for the jungle celebrities
by clearing the camp of creepy crawlies including
dangerous insects and snakes, but show producers claim
no such thing has been performed. The other
rumour is that the camp is not actually as remote from
civilisation as may have been thought and that it lies
within walking distance of a town, Murwillambah, and a
children's playground. A spokeswoman for
Granada, the makers of the show pointed out that this
too was untrue:
"We absolutely refute these claims.
We stand by the fact that the area used for 'I'm A
Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!' is an exceptionally
cruel environment where dangerous snakes and insects
are indigenous to the area and the conditions are
humid and very hot. We refute claims that the
camp has been cleared prior to the celebrities going
in. If there is a specific threat to the
celebrities while they are in the camp, we have
trained wranglers on site to deal with it. The
camp where they will be spending the next two weeks is
surrounded by dense rainforest were they are contained
by natural barriers. It is also important to
point out that the 10 celebrities have been removed
from their pampered lifestyles to live for up to two
weeks in this environment with only the most basic
essentials. There is a small road, which is more
like a dirt track, which leads directly up to the
production camp. This is nowhere near where the
celebrities are based. There are no roads
anywhere near their camp site."
And so, Kerry and all her jungle mates will face an
intensely tough time! We wish Kerry all the
very, very best as she gets closer to the jungle...and
here at Atomic Kitten Active, we'll be supporting
her all the way to win the title of Queen of the
Jungle!!! Our Kerry in the Jungle coverage
will continue right throughout...so keep it here at
AKA and post your messages of support and your
thoughts in our Guest Book!!!

predictions before the start
25/1/2004, 9:10am GMT
Here's the quick scoop on the bookmakers'
predictions on allsorts of jungle activity hours away
from the start of play that is 'I'm A Celebrity...Get
Me Out Of Here!'
With
regards to the winner of 'I'm A Celebrity...', Kerry
is in a suitably comfortable position being fourth
favourite behind Alex Best, John Lydon and the top
favourite, Neil 'Razor' Ruddock (pictured). The
odds for Kerry are 7/1 behind Alex's 6/1, John's 5/1
and Neil's 10/3 odds*. Trailing behind Kerry
are: Jordan at 8/1 odds, then Mike Read at 10/1, Lord
Brocket at 12/1, Peter Andre at 14/1, Jennie Bond at
25/1 and the celebrity least likeliest to carry off
the title and most likely to be first evicted,
according to the bookies:
Diane
Modahl (pictured) at 33/1 odds for winning*. In
terms of who's likely to be Queen of the Jungle, Kerry
is second favourite behind Alex Best, so there's much
hope for Kerry!!! Of course, the odds have not
really changed a lot over the week before the start of
'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!'. Much
can change once the stars are inside and doing their
thing. Other interesting odds include the likeliest
to perform the first nasty Bushtucker Trial!
Jordan, Neil Ruddock and John Lydon are all top
favourites to head the first task. Kerry is in
the bottom three, i.e. less likely, to do it together
with Jennie Bond and Alex Best.
And
finally as a sideline, some 'odd' odds: If you
remember from the last series, there was a metal
access bridge that links the jungle camp and the
makeshift studio where presenters Ant & Dec hold their
coverage of the show and do the eviction interviews.
That access bridge was the scene of a near walkout by
the celebs on the last series due to a dispute on food
rations (pictured). To make things harder this
time, the show producers have modified this bridge to
prevent any walkout.
Bookies
have therefore suggested that Ant & Dec may become a
target of frustration by stressed celebs and
considered a 25/1 odds that they'll be kidnapped
during the show by the celebs!!! 33/1 odds has
been put down for any pair of celebs to get married,
by the end of the year. And in terms of going
topless first: Jordan is still favourite (4/9) with
Kerry second at 5/1. And odds of any one celeb
walking out as Danniella Westbrook (pictured) on the
last series did: 3/1. * Best odds quoted by a
variety of bookmakers, correct as of yesterday (24th
January 2004). Always check with relevant
sources for the latest betting odds.

Model, Jodie Marsh has given her thumbs up
support to Kerry over Jordan to carry off the title of
Queen of the Jungle on 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out
Of Here!'. She had a go at Jordan saying: "It
needs a comedy cartoon character. With being
starved, she won’t need next month’s liposuction.
I’m with Kerry all the way," when speaking to The Sun
newspaper.

kerry gets into a panic
24/1/2004, 10:20am GMT
Ahead of the third UK series of 'I'm A
Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!', Kerry has suffered a
panic attack and had to be admitted to hospital where
she stayed in for some 36 hours. Poor Kerry got
extremely stressed over the possibility that she may
be labelled "the most hated woman in Britain" for
speaking her mind when she is left with her other nine
jungle mates from Monday (26th January 2004).
It's reported in The Daily Star that she was taken in
shortly before catching her flight for Australia a few
days ago.
Kerry spoke of the attack: "It was panic
over the show which caused the problem. I was so
stressed and anxious, I ended up in hospital for a day
and a half. I felt worse and worse, and finally
just collapsed with these really bad stomach pains.
I've never felt anything like it. I began
throwing up and couldn't stop. It was really
scary. I felt dreadful. I'm famous for
being a bit of a loudmouth and I believe in speaking
my mind. Because of that, I got myself wound up
that I'll end up the most hated woman in Britain.
I'm really worried that I'll be kicked off the show
first. I'm worried about how the viewers will
perceive me. I don't want anyone thinking I'm a
stuck-up cow or something. I guess it was this
fear - that the British public will see me on TV and
hate me - that caused the health problem. All
the stress about the show kept building up inside me
and made me really ill. Worries about leaving
Bryan and my kids, fears about the show - I just got
totally stressed out."
Kerry also spoke of the distress that had come up
being separated from husband, Westlife singer Bryan
and her children, Molly and Lily-Sue: "Bryan was a bit
emotional and begged me not to go. Seeing him so upset
made it really hard for me, but he knew deep down I'd
have to go."
We're sure Kerry will be just fine when she makes
it into the jungle! Keep up the support for
Kerry and let's hope she's Queen of the Jungle in no
time!!! Leave your message sof support and
thoughts about Kerry's jungle challenge in our
Guest Book now!

unsteady jungle prep
24/1/2004, 9:05am GMT
It's all happening! Monday 26th January
2004 sees the celebrities including Kerry ex-Kitten,
being eyed upon by the UK's viewers when they get
exposed to the cameras for up to 2 weeks, on the third
'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!' The
stars flew out to Queensland, Australia, over the past
couple of days and are headed for the Gold Coast in
Australia where they will spend anything up to a
fortnight in the middle of a wild and most dangerous
rainforest. After soaking in the air and climate
of Australia away from jungle territory, the
celebrities will be entering the jungle for the first
time at 8pm (GMT) tomorrow (25th January 2004).
And
it's not too smooth a preparation for the show as one
other jungle mate of Kerry's, John 'Johnny Rotten'
Lydon (pictured) is threatening to quit the show. In the
past couple of hours, the ex-Sex Pistols singer has
not been co-operating with show producers and has been
down and depressed about the whole show. If he
does decide to escape, reserve, Timmy Mallett
(remember his shows on TV-AM and his pet cockatiel? )
will take his place! How much more
interesting can this get?
